time-stamped for the rationale and the event.

does this align with your BJJ experience?

cool, not cool?
I've never seen a fight where they would let them knee grounded opponents.

I've been to gyms where you cant fight at all they trip if you take off your shirt. Mostly family type places. They would never allow this

I've been to gyms where you could hop in the cage and settle your issues also but they would have general rules. No headbutts and that shit. These are more your dungeon mma or boxing gyms. Better training imo

I like gyms where I can get a cut and keep training and I've had coaches kick me out of sparring for a eye swollen shut.

This situation I'd say is ok because it seemed contained. I dont like the knees to head though

when Heath said "nothing really bad happens in these fights anyway" my first thought was "you HAVE NOT been in as many fights as you want people to think".

he was a popular jock, I don't imagine him busting heads in the Dairy Queen parking lot every Saturday.
i saw the knee to the cheek of a dude...

"how come you can't see so good out of your left eye?"

"well, I didn't fist bump a guy after a wrestling round, so coach set a bare-knuckle fight and the dude shattered my eye socket."

Heath better pray to baby Jesus that nobody shows that video to his insurer.
And what kind of conflict resolution skills or self-awareness are you teaching if you solve every dispute with a basement brawl?

on a side note - How many foreigners have been at PanAms the last 2 years? Or has it been mostly domestic competitors?

The leaking tire guy was annoying me
"i totally fucked-up my ankle...when I'm 45 yo I'll wince every time I get out of bed or step out of a car...but that motherfucker isn't ever going to diss my fist bump again."

From the little I saw in the video I didnt get much backstory. Seemed a little too much I'm all for a few mma rounds but this was more of a streetfight with grappling

Definitely dont like the potential long term injuries associated with free fights. Even if you guys think I'm crazy I usually avoid BS like this. It would take alot for me to fight someone in a gym. I've hit people for shit but never had to go rounds

yep. some situations the only reasonable response is a smack in the head.

but if the situation is "my ex-roommate left dishes all over the house and didn't fist bump me after a wrestle round", the response should be "so IDGAF and moved on with my life" not "so we had a NHB fight in some dude's basement".

where I grew up, kids who were 10 yo swim champions and All-State baseball players weren't the guys getting in scuffles in wood shop.
