A lot of baked beans are too sweet or too ketchupy. I like mine spicy with lots of bacon.

From what the interwebs says, it's possible to grow them in the PNW, but you'll need to start them indoors and wait until May or so to move them outdoors. I started mine in late February and just repotted them and moved them outside to harden, this afternoon. The rest of outdoor garden, this year, will be peppers and herbs. I also recently got into growing mushrooms. My first blocks of Reishi, Lion's Mane, and Phoenix Oyster are colonizing and should be ready to fruit here in the next couple of weeks.
