We had Sovereignty in a blind draw pool at the neighbors house that paid $200. Not a bad day.

Floated the keg around 8 then we all hit the bourbon. Hard.

There are 3 cars in the driveway that aren't mine. Not sure if people crashed here last night or decided to get a ride home and get their car later today. I supose there's also a chance we decided to steal a bunch of cars from the neighborhood for laughs.

The morning will eventually reveal all of last night's shenanigans.

That was awesome
That guy talks super country but seems pretty cool, has horses. Does a horse dance when he scores a TD. I thought he was being an asshole when he did the horse dance against my broncos, but when I learned he has a horse I gave him a pass.

The second leg of the Triple Crown is this Saturday. Journalism, who ran second in the KY Derby, is the heavy ML favorite @ 8-5.

Field & post positions.

A lot of 'experts' I've watched videos on this week are going to try and beat the favorite, Journalism. They're citing "he's coming back in 2 weeks after running a hard race in the Derby", etc. I'm not going to try and beat him. He's the best horse in this field, by far, according to the figs and I trust his trainer when he says out came of the Derby fine. I dont think they'd run him back here, if he didn't.

So I'm keying him on top of my bets. If someone beats him, congrats.

I'll post my bets here before the race. I want to see what the odds are on the 1, 6, and 8 prior to the race before making a decision on who to play underneath.

Anyone watch the Preakness? Journalism is a fucking savage. Watch the final 1/8 of that race. What he overcame and still be able to run down the 9 in unreal. What a horse.

We have the last leg of the Triple Crown coming up Saturday. The Belmont Stakes at Saratoga race track. This years it's 1 1/4 mile (usually 1 1/2 mile) because renovations are being done to Belmont Park.

Here's the field:

I'll probably be placing W/P bets on #6 Baeza. He's fresh after skipping the Preakness, and the pace of this race should set up nicely for him. His 4-1 M/L odds are also attractive (not sure I get 4-1 at post time though). The only speed in this field is the #3 and #5. I expect them to be on the lead at the half mile pole, with the #6 & #7 stalking off of them a couple of lengths...meaning they should get first run in the stretch. The Derby winner (#2 Sovereignty) might be up against it bit here because he's a closer who needs decent fractions to close into, and I'm not sure he gets it here. I do expect him to run his race though, being fresh after also skipping the Preakness. Just not sure he's going to have enough horses tiring in front of him. Then there's Journalism, who ran 2nd in the Derby, came back in 2 weeks and won the Preakness, and is now firing at em again on short rest. He's a fucking beast though, and his connections wouldn't run in him in here if he weren't ready. I just wonder if the two hard races he ran in the Derby & Preakness might leave him a but empty here.

Preliminary wagers:

$10 W/P: 6 ($20)
$4 ex: 6,7 w/ 2,3,6,7 ($24)
$1 tri: 6/7 w/ 2,3,6,7 w/ 1,2,3,6,7 ($18)
$1 tri: 2,3,6,7 w/ 6,7 w/ 1,2,3,6,7 ($18)
$1 super: 6/7 w/ 2,3,6,7 w/ 1,2,3,6,7 w/ 1,2,3,6,7 ($36)

Total wagers = $116
