I was reading Why Machines Learn: The Elegant Math Behind Modern AI, it is complete hell to get through because the math is way over my head. So then I read Where the Crawdads Sing as a break, unfortunately that was an easy 2 sitting read and now I'm back to the hell that is the first book.
Honest to god, I have tried to read almost every single one of his books and could never finish any of them. His punctuation (lack thereof) and prose really bother me and I cannot for the life of me figure out how this guy got so popular. I understand the grit of his stories and why that is appealing but the way he writes is so distracting me.

I despise 60s counterculture and its people, so never gave the Manson murders too much thought. But O'Neil's Rogan interview got me curious enough to give it a read. So far pretty good.
I personally think that Yedan and Brys are the most lethal people outside of people like Icarium, Anomander, Caladan, etc.
One of my favorite scenes is Brys picking Rhulad apart. Didnt break a sweat.
I think one on one, Brys takes it. I think Yedan is the better warfighter though.
Read the first and part of the second. Or maybe it was 1 and 2 and part of 3. It was ok. Its just not LOTR level, imo.
LOTR is the gold standard for the genre. All other stories can be measured against it.
I need to add that to my list
I have one more book by Sanderson, the sunlit man, then I'm completely caught up with him

If you want something fun and fast paced I have two suggestions
The first is the Bobiverse series. Sci-fi, if you like Andy Weir's books you'll probably like
The second is the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. LitRPG, which I'm not usually into, and a lot of fun
Yeah most people do. Picture me trying to read Blood Meridian and thinking, why do people rave about this piece of shit book. Lol.
Yeah, I went in knowing that'd be the case. I'm leery of any book that claims to have "finally solved" a case. They almost always arrive backwards to a conclusion and ignore any inconvenient facts. (e.g. 90% of true crime mysteries)
Sword of Shannara and the whole series was much appreciated when I read them as a young teen.

I love his Norse Mythology book, I own the physical and audio copy
He's a liberal bitch at times but if you like Norse mythology then it's definitely worth grabbing
