My auto shop teacher owned a pool company. He'd hire the rocker greaser dudes from his classes. They said the job sucked sucked but he paid good and bought them beer on Fridays lol.
They gotta be making a killing on these pools. I'd say 50% margins, minimum.

Same company doing the cement work or diy?
Pool company is doing it all. All I had to do was hire an electrician to run a feed from the house panel to the pool panel, and a plumber to run the gas line from the meter to the heater. They do everything else, and they have a sister company that does landscaping, so we're gonna have them do that at the end.

honest question, did they build a good gravel bed with drainage underneath, I have heard horror stories about those fiberglass shells getting water under them and the shells floating up out of the ground.

Yeah, they did. They also install an auto sump pump system that pumps water out from around the pool. I've heard those same stories. You definitely need to check the gauge every so often, and make sure rain water stays drained away from them. My neighbor doesn't have an auto pump and he has to go out there in the dead of winter and drop a bilge pump w/ a garden hose down into a hole. Fuuuuck that shit.

Pool is level, plumbing & lighting is done, and it’s been back filled & water added. They fill it once to have it settle and completely level out. Tomorrow they’ll pump that dirty water out and fill it with clean water.

Tomorrow, Thur, Friday they’ll be pouring one foot of concrete around the pool that the stone coping will sit on, pouring the equipment pad and installing the pump & heater.

Electrician is coming out Saturday to hook up the panel board & get the pump running. Should be able to get in this bitch next Monday.

Next week they should frame up the concrete around the pool & pour that.

Week after that is bringing top soil in, finish grading, sod and landscaping. Hoping it’s completely done by 8/15.

Did you at least have another big hole dug under the guise of "we're gonna put a hot tub or koi pond or something there eventually" so you have someplace to put the *new* obese and / or midget hooker bodies?
