Bro, bro, you don't need it hacked, but if you want stuff done I'd be more than happy to do a remote session and show you how to side load apps if you went that route. Plus I don't think they are hackable right now unless you have one on old firmware. A fire tv stick is also about 66% cheaper and has the same functionality
but they do advertise the fire tv with heavy hardware specs? which the stick doesn't have, is uses the tv hardware?

Can't you just use the YouTube app on your 360?

If Morpheus did get an Amazon Fire TV wouldn't he need a TV with HDMI to connect it to the box? or some type of USB input in the TV for the stick version?

You can get a converter thing and use a cell phone charger to power it.

oh yeah for sure. But i was thinking since you have a CRT TV this amazon hookup wouldn't work with you.

You are probably better off with that $10 in your original post.

Then you can save some cash to get a digital tv in the future when you are ready so then you can stream to your tv much better. You could get a smart tv too so you already have the wifi built into it.

The only real solution to the OP's dilemma is to get a cheap LCD (not TV). Depending on size, an LCD can be had for as low as US$80. This is the most convenient, quick, easy and inexpensive setup. No need to get chrome casts, amazon tv boxes, or use voodoo to get it running.

PC -> HDMI cable -> LCD = done and done.

If you want an LCD with sound, look at the Philips 234E series (23" IPS) or if you want larger, the Philips 274E series (27" IPS). Simply connect with HDMI and you get picture AND sound... If interested I can take a pic of my setup and you'll see how ridiculously easy it is to hook up.

because the LCD monitors are to small for that distance.
Get a bigger screen? A decent IPS LCD TV doesn't cost more than US$ 250-350 (depending on if you need 32" or bigger).
Besides, I'm guessing your CRT isn't bigger than about 27-30" anyway, so a 27" Philips screen size isn't small by CRT standards.

It's time to step in to the digital world once you score a tv with hdmi or even USB you can buy a chromecast or ezcast and stream whatever content via you pc to tv.
Another standalone solution is a androidbox, i own a minix neo x8h and love that thing it's hooked up to my second tv, installed XBMC/kodi on it for live iptv, and have flixtor, popcorntime, and showbox installed for movies and series but this needs an hdmi input too.

If you look around at some "kringloopwinkels" in your area you might find a secondhand lcd for nearly nothing if your lucky, and offcourse "Marktplaats" if you're living not too far away from me, i would be willing to give you ride to pick it up.
