A big day for us around here in Louisville. The day before Derby, the Kentucky Oaks is a huge event for our city and Churchill Downs. Today, the ladies (Fillies) will battle it out in the 140th running on the Grade I Kentucky Oaks. It's also an opportunity for the beautiful women here in Kentucky, and across the country, to show off their style.

It's big hats, dresses, and hot ass for as far as the eye can see.

Last year, Rosie Napravnik won on Untapable.

This year, the field is talented and deep, with no real dominant horse standing out. I studied the Past Performances last night, and will be betting the following:

$2 exacta wheel: 12/13 with 12/13/2/8/7/5 ($20 ticket)

$1 trifecta wheel: 12/13 with 12/13/2/8/7/5 with 12/13/2/8/7/5/3/4/10 ($70 ticket)

Oaks/Derby Double: 12/13 with 8/10/15/18 ($16 ticket)

Unfortunately not. Not even going. It makes for a LONG day and I've done Oaks & Derby at least 15 times. Wife & kids are at a cheer comp in Orlando, so I'm throwing a pork tenderloin on the Weber, 18 beers in the cooler, and hanging out at home & betting on twinspires.com

Some buddies called last night, wanting me to meet them out there but I don't feel like hanging out at Churchill from 8am-7pm, and I also don't have a designated driver. I'll just drink here, so I can walk 20 feet and crawl into bed
