Not so much mood for individual songs or specific players per se, I initially was thinking more along the lines of creativity, sound, and flavor they add to their songs.

I'll give another instance.... I can think of 4 not mentioned yet that are killer.... And all have different vibes, but all are phenomenal.
Well I thought you were looking for something for a film. The music has to help create the mood you are going for, yes?I'll give another instance.... I can think of 4 not mentioned yet that are killer.... And all have different vibes, but all are phenomenal.
The Roots (their horns are MONSTER)
The Count Basie Orchestra
The Blues Brothers Band
David Letterman's Band.
All phenomenal horn sections.
I'd be more impressed if it was being played the opposite direction.

I just bought tickets to see JJ and Mofro again. Love that band.
How is it that no one mentioned Chicago yet? For that time and what they were doing, having a brass section in a band like that was nuts.
The only ones I can think of have probably been used to death. Van Morrison and Ray Lamontagne came to mind.So true, one track I used them on definitely had a James Brown/Heist Film vibe (that's already complete, I had a Hip Hop producer friend of mine help with that), the second one that I have been a little vexed on is something sad, think Band of Horses "Funeral" but with horns, That's the one that led to this topic start for me.

Saw him open for Ben Harper years ago at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach and I've been hooked ever since.I'm seeing JJ Grey Feb 9th here in Orlando, one of my favorite bands ever
Such a talented group of guys. When Elton John writes a song about your drummer its a pretty good indicator that you've made it as a bandLove The Band and that tune
Ben Harper would be a great show to seeSaw him open for Ben Harper years ago at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach and I've been hooked ever since.
I got tickets to see him at The National here in Richmond in March. Can't wait.
He's INCREDIBLE live.... I got a chance to meet him in Orlando once, legitimately one of the nicest people.... Gary Clark Jr is another one who is super nice, as is Myles Kennedy (such a music fan, and will talk music for hours with you)Ben Harper would be a great show to see
Holy shit, I think I posted it in the "what are you listening to" thread.... Thank you so much, this is my vibe.... Thank you Ms FriendlyThe only ones I can think of have probably been used to death. Van Morrison and Ray Lamontagne came to mind.
