Michael Bisping hasn't even been the UFC middleweight champion for a week and already the line to fight him is queuing up.

In an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN, Bisping talks about his first title defense and apparently has not changed his mind.

"As of right now, Luke Rockhold will not be my first defense. That's a fact. I had to go away and beat three more guys before I got a second shot at Luke. Certainly, after his behavior on Saturday, he should have to go away and do the same. He wasn't even close. And it's not like Luke beat me, then I beat Luke, so therefore we have to go again right away. The first fight was two years ago. Neither of us were champion then. He became champion, good for him. And I just knocked him out in the first round. Luke's an incredible fighter. He probably has better technical skill than I do. He's going to go away and do it the old-fashioned way like I had to."

With all due respect to the new champ...wouldn't it be something to see Hendo win the title and then retire?!

This would be good for hendo as there is absolutely no risk of a takedown, however could result in a mirror image of the silva fight but with no chance of bisping getting a knockdown.........decision to hendo and then he can retire

I don't have the problem with Hendo Bisping 2 that many have. The only person I think clearly "deserving" of a title shot at MW is Jacare. I can't believe I am agreeing with Bisping but Weidman needs a W first and Rockhold got first round KOd. Have them fight again for a title shot. Romero is roided out and will likely fail a post fight drug test. Past those names from 4 to 15 in the rankings all have about the same case as Hendo but lacking the history. Robert Whittaker being about the only exception outside Jacare not coming off recents rough stretches. So give us the fight we want. The freak show fight of two old men slugging it out one more time that hopefully ends with Hendo strapping on the belt and retiring.

Guess who's suspension is up next month. If America wants the belt back they should send in a gangster to get it done.

How did we get to a point whereby you have bisping deciding who he's going to fight for the title?

This fight game is at a point where I'm actually interested to see what's next.

Who would "of" ever thought that there might be a requirement for both rockhold and weidman to fight for the right to take on bisping........

LOL @ champion picking his challengers.

Henderson: I'd love to see a repeat of Bisping/Henderson 1 but I think Bisping would take it this time.

Weidman: huge win streak and 3 successful title defences against the best in the division. Credible opponent.

Rockhold: rubber match has an argument but only interested in this cos I think he wins.

Jacare: the go to fight. Give the man his shot.

If they want bisping to stay they give him hendo.

If they want him out, Romero will tune him up.....IMO

I don't agree with Ronda picking fights either. But in her case, she fought all the top contenders. It's a thin division

Of all the contenders I think Hendo is the easiest fight of the bunch. In saying that, Hendo is not a contender. If I remember correctly he is 4-6 in his last 10. That is like saying that Jake Ellenberger deserves a title shot against Lawler. I get the sentiment because it's Hendo but he does not deserve the shot over Weidman, Rockhold, Souza, Romero, I think Whittaker and Brunson deserve it way more. Even though Kennedy hasn't fought for a long time even he deserves it more.

I think Romero will be tough for a few rounds but once he gasses he will be a punching bag. Bisping has proven time and time again that his cardio is world-class and his boxing is elite as well.

Whittaker and Brunson are the dark horses of the division so much potential.

Considering Bisping has just won the belt by avenging a defeat that irked him, he clearly just wants to do the same with Hendo. He'll win and then he'll get down to business. Get off his back people, come on. How many fighters do you all think could be accused of dodging whilst ignoring the obvious reasons? Shit-loads of them.

I don't think anyone is arguing that there are clearly more deserving people than Hendo. Jacare alone is clearly the most deserving and overlooked guy in the division. My point was that aside from Jacare and maybe Whittaker they all have their obvious faults. Couple that with a champion most think will be run over by just about anyone in the division and making a fight that he would be favored in makes some sense. Plus always remember it's about the money. It is a business. It's why McGregor is still a champ in a division he clearly has no intention of fighting in again. It's why Rousey is #2 despite serious questions about whether or not she'll return. Bisping and Hendo are forever tied together because of the first fight and for many fans that is a desired rematch (even before Bisping gained the belt) that would sell better than probably any other Bisping match. For that reason alone I won't be shocked to see Bisping/Hendo 2.
