Pretty much. The best thing about it would be betting on whether or not GSP stuffs 20.5 takedowns.
so then the main reason why it sux is cuz it's Maia (not his fault). Fighters are scared to fight their normal fight against someone like Maia. It's the same reason Carlos Condit was so worried about Nick Diaz's style, he couldn't fight his normal fight and granted it wasn't boring as this, but that fight was one of the biggest let downs ever.
Going back to my original point, you can't blame a fighter for a boring fight, when he's using his best plans against a specialist. Woodley was trying to KO him, just didn't turn out that way. IMO, too much hate on Woodley.

This is faulty reasoning. How does GSP also being boring have anything to do with Woodley's performance?
I know why Woodley fought the way he fought, that doesn't make it entertaining.
If this was a one-off performance, then all of your excuses for Woodley would be reasonable. But this wasn't a one-off performance against a specialist, this is a pattern.
what pattern? He KO'd Lawler and many other people before, he happens to face a specialist in striking and specialist in grappling in his last 2 opponents.
It's not faulty reasoning because you said if GSP fought Maia, it would be boring too, so that means if anyone that fights Maia would be boring, yet Woodley gets all the blame. And there is no guarantee Bisping vs GSP will be so much more exciting.
The real faulty reasoning is thinking GSP vs Bisping is valid because Woodley's performance was so boring. We have a clear WW Champ and a winner, Woodley didn't cheat. He won within the rules but the fight wasn't as exciting as people were thinking. So because fight was boring, the GOAT WW is going to make his comeback for a MW title who never had a single MW fight? Skipping all the MW who is in line, that have well more than earned their spots on the division? That's a faulty reasoning.
Also, I can't find the clip but do you not remember Dana White promising Woodley, GSP is next at the pre-presser? "GSP is fighting Woodley/Maia winner" and I don't remember him ever saying "GSP is next, only if Woodley/ Maia fight is not boring." nor does it say anywhere in the contract that Woodley has to win the fight and has to win the fans too.
Let's look at Woodley's performance. He was trying to KO Maia every chance he had without compromising and if he did connect, people will be praising him but just because he wasn't able to(cuz Maia is so game), everyone is buying into that he was purposely making this fight boring?

Only people who really want this fight (GSP vs Bisping) are Bisping fans, because it'll be the easiest fight he can take. Honestly, only person Bisping should be fighting after he earned that belt is Rockhold. Everyone knows that was a lucky punch on short notice fight, so where was the rematch?
Keep supporting this BS and give more momentum to UFC going downhill. UFC 214 was one of the greatest cards I've ever seen in my MMA Fan career. It was great on paper and the event as a whole, delivered. But guess what? I doubt it's gonna do more than 500k buys cuz fans lose interest on real fights, they only care of money fights.

However, fuck you Anderson Silva. I've had a bitter taste in my mouth about him since Abu Dhabi with Maia.
I will stick up for him but many would say GSP did exactly that. I hope you're right and some Braz Eagle comes, swoops down and takes the belt off of him, convinces the judges, and gives it to its rightful owner Demian. I've wanted that belt on him for 9 years now.
