GSP and Shogun both tapped to strikes.

This cannot be questioned when there is video evidence.
Look at the video that was generously supplied by @Splinty. Big John's stepping in happened prior to any taps (hence the official record)

I understand that you don't like GSP. He embarrassed Nick Diaz, JBJ's record will never hold up against his, and Conor will never beat him. But come on, you're better than this.

So we're just ignoring facts outright now?
Not at all.
Video shows him tapping.
GSP says he tapped.

It doesn't matter if the referee yelled stop for a TKO, GSP still tapped -- this is a physical binary question, not a scorecard recording question. And above all this wouldn't be the first time a person tapped and the referee missed it. They still tapped.

So you agree he tapped! ha!

Will we have to figure out if it was due to strikes next?
Well, he was getting punched and he tapped. Soooo....

The thing you seem to be missing is that it had no bearing on the outcome of the fight. You're acting as if GSP is out there doing Bob Sapp impressions while defending the guy who according to himself has never lost a fight.

It has a bearing on my shit talking that GSPs past being celebrated as indicative of his future performance also shows a contrast to bisping's willingness to walk through damage and keep on coming.

This is much better shit talking when I was referring to the British double as a Terminator

You mean except for those 7 losses?

Record schmecord. Shogun's loss doesn't go down as a tap to strikes either.

But they both tapped, and everyone knows it.

Stop this ridiculous trolling of yours.

So don't use his past achievements to predict his future but use one of his two avenged losses to do the same. Shame on you.

This is much better shit talking when I was referring to the British double as a Terminator
I thought I read some sort of Terminator reference last night but I was high. Now that I see it again I can only assume you were too.

Laughably transparent GSP hatred in this thread.

As if tapping to strikes equals psychological weakness, rather than being smart enough to avoid unnecessary damage.

GSP realized he was done and prioritized his future career ahead of his ego.

Anyone that's more worried about looking tough than preserving their health and career is a fool, not a 'badass'.

No more shame in tapping to strikes than to a locked up submission. Not if you're really done, which he clearly was.

If we want to draw conclusions about GSP's mental toughness, let's look at how he dominated the rematch against the guy that humiliated him, overcame adversity against Condit and Hendricks, and dominated what was the deepest division in MMA for years.
