Cowboy once again looking great at WW. This was my favorite moment of the fight. One could even say "His precision is precise".

I know Donald called out Eddie but I'm not sure if they'll do that fight or not. If Cowboy goes back to LW a fun fight would be him vs Barboza or Poirier. If he stays at WW I'd like to see him fight Many, Gastelum or Condit. Either get this man paid and another oppondnt soon.

It was a very impressive performance. Cerrone is a beast, but can he get over that hump against top 5 fighters? He's still improving, so maybe, but will his liver always hold him back?

Barboza would be a fun but risky fight. If he pushes himself as the giantkiller of LW who already owns a win over the champ, he could be competing for the belt again.

Condit would be the greatest fight, but they're teammates so it's unlikely. I wonder if they train together for Donald's WW fights?

Ya he's come up short in the past but I think he's capable to be a champ if he wants that route. Tough to predict as a bunch of fighters are calling the belt a joke and so on considering how some matches are being made. Regardless what he does I prefer to watch him at WW.

Ya I never know who's considered friends or just teammates with that camp. I think there's more exciting and interesting match ups at WW but Donald may want to get that ufc gold at least once in his career for some extra money.

I think he is one of those guys that destroys everyone below a certain level but will never get over the final hump. Still a great fighter, great to watch, game as fuck, and he will get the chance to prove me wrong.

cowboy learned his lesson in the first fight vs Barboza...He got lit up but pulled it out

Got that Rory thing going on.
Kind of. I think Rory is much more likely to be one champ due to his age. Also his title fight with Robbie was increbly competitive compared to Donald getting smoked by RDA. Both LW and WW are really deep and that line separating potential champs from gate keepers is constantly moving.

I just mean in the sense that on a few occasions Rory has had the title served up to him on a platter and just been unable to close the deal.

Thought this would be a story about Cerrone lighting up a joint, or a glass pipe, or something illicit. But I see what the thread is after now. Barely, but I see it.

He should probably just surgically remove it, wring out all the beer from it, hang it up on a clothes line, wait for it to dry and then put it back in. A non-beer-soaked liver just might make the difference.

It's weird that he has such a kryptonite weakness though. Unfortunately for Story he knows no anti-liver Gung Vu.

Transplant might be the only option. Seriously, though, I think it's to do with his bodytype, a long torso like Cerrone and Browne, which might mean the floating rib doesn't give as much protection. I'm kind of pulling that from my arse, though, but it seems to make sense for why they suffer so badly from bodyshots compared to others.

Donald is REALLY flat, like he disappears when he turns sideways. He is sooo lean and narrow, there had to be a price to pay for being able to fight at 155.

I can't believe the weights some of these fighters fight at. Cerrone amazes me. How the fuck does he drink all that beer and remain 2-dimensional? I don't care how active he is. Maybe he doesn't drink as much as he would have us believe? Nah.

@Splinty SC MMA MD @SC MMA MD might be able to give more substantial opinions(than mine at least)

He's definitely in better shape than me but we have the same basic build. I'm 36, eat like a horse and a pig at the same time, drink when I want, rarely even work out that much anymore and I still never get above 172 @ 6 feet tall. Always have abs but never really have a chest. Suits are a bitch to buy because I'm broad as hell through the shoulders but could wear a 38 through the chest.

Some people are just built different and wired differently. He's one of those. Of course, he's active as hell. Every one of his hobbies involve burning calories so you can get away with eating pizza and drinking beer.

I think Willthiswork is correct- the dude exercises non-stop, and probably has a tendency towards low body fat/higher metabolism that helps some, but the constant activity is probably the biggest factor.

Thoughts on the susceptibility to liver shots?

Thoughts on the susceptibility to liver shots?
Hard to say. I think part of it is once someone gets hurt by a liver shot in a fight, other fighters try to focus on their liver in future fights. Some fighters might have a liver that peeks out a little further below their ribs, or more mobility of their lower ribs, that leaves them more exposed to getting hit in the liver; but I am unaware of any proof of this idea.
