the fuck it didnt. ATF bought 5 of them, had a dog team, chopper and swat team descend upon the old barn in which I made them, but I'd been gone for a week. They are just too slow and chickenshit. They actually were so scared of that pathetic unabomber that they repurposed a satellite to watch him for weeks, before they dared send in a swat team, and he didn't even own a gun, much less know how to use one. They KNEW I did. Those smgs were so controlable that you could write your initials in the wall with one hand, due to the intentionally slow rate of fire, 10 shots per second, and `1.5 lbs of silencer hanging on the front of the 3" barrel. I converted about a dozen Tec-9s to full auto, silenced them and traded them for an oz of coke each, when that oz meant 9k in today's money.

I was on the run at the time, in the late 80's, in S cal. The place was wide open, 24-7. Then bush and clinton broiught in so much coke, from Nicaragua, that the price dropped from 50k per kilo to 10k, Money back then was worth 4x what it is today, too. I was broke, no decent way to make a buck, but had the bit of tooling and knowlege needed to turn out cans and smgs. They're very simple. Each one takes about 3 days, if you know what youi're doing.

how'd you like to bet $1000, to my $10,000, that I can't produce courtroom proof that it happened? :)

I made the magwell, upper and lower receiver, bolt, extractor, ejector, trigger, sear, buttstock and sights from scratch. Used 3" long chunks of UZI barrel, M16 pistol grips and Sten magazines. Had about $20 in each, back then, half of it spent on all the copper screen wire needed in the back half of the silencer. I had a custom spring making place in Long beach make the recoil springs. Used a torch and casenite powder to case harden the parts that needed it. Just formed the firing pin out of the bolt as I shaped the breechface on an old Atlas 6" lathe. made the bolt out of 7/8" OD rod, some 1. 375" OD, 1/8" wall thickness tubing, with an adapter welded betwen the two, and filled the back of the bolt-body with lead.

I have a variety of guns, they each serve a different purpose. It’s hard to tell others what the “best” gun for them is. I think a big factor to consider is what one may be most comfortable with, or has the most experience with. I have a little kid too, so a lot of guns are locked up. But I have my strategically stashed options available if I need it. Plus, my neighbors are all heavily armed ;)

I do like shotguns for home defense though, but I also havesidearms and rifles. Just depends on what’s happening I guess. I don’t fuck around with home defense rounds or slugs for the shotty though. 00 buckshot is just fine for defense IMO.

Ar''s cheaper now, but not so long ago, you could buy Aks for $200. cause they're clunks, basically. They are $50 on the international market. The AR's a much better choice for the US, certainly.

too lazy to carry around 1 lousy lb of 9mm or .38? When it's in your holster, nobody else is messing with it and it cna be firing at an enemy in 1 second flat, from concealment.
