Unlikely as in impossible. Male silverbacks kill the infants of other males. Females will not mate while caring for a baby. So they only put up with it if the baby is their's.
Seems like your kind of thing to do.
I wouldn't do a short man in the first place. I try to make wise decisions.

How old is that show? In those days they regularly staged and lied about animal interactions that they filmed. Was this the one special snowflake time a silverback allowed an orphan cub to be raised in his harem? Maybe but highly unlikely as in improbable.

Just read the documentary page. Turns out baby gorilla is doing well. Still being monitored.
The baby's name was Julie and they found her dead 10 days later.
The brave Deschryver whom I shall pay my respect forever was married to my aunt Agnes Bujiriri. Agnes is my mother’s younger sister. I remember that I was about ten years old when I first saw a film, in which uncle Adrien was playing with the silverback male Casimir. It was a film produced by Anglia Survival in 1975. Uncle had a young orphan baby female gorilla called Julie. He attempted to reintroduce this baby in the group of Casimir in those days. Unfortunately she died after ten days, which was narrated by David Niven.
