Jones should let Stipe fight the Brit for the interim. And take the winner. Pec tears take a long time to heal properly, especially because JJ is no longer a young buck. Dana needs to properly compensate all parties and make this go forward. JJ should get compensated properly for accepting this. AND, it should be reported all monies involved.

If he did then Tom will stop Stipe and then Jones would have to fight Tom and he doesn't want to do that.
He didn't want to fight Francis either, just Gane and Stipe and retire...handpicked guys.

Jones should be stripped immediately and Stipe vs Jon can be a legacy super fight, which it already was.

I don't know anyone that thinks Stipe has a chance. Sure, JJ is cherry picking, but as a GOAT, he should have some sway IMO.

JJ fighting Francis was just a pipe dream of Dana's. C'mon, with all that JJ has done.. even though he said he wanted Ngannou.. shit.. that is a helluva lot to ask.. ANY combat sports including Judo, Boxing, Wrestling etc.. ADCC whatever.. this is ridiculous having somebody jump all these weights to prove themselves. Ya gotta give JJ something. So what, he came up dicey a few times..

I'm fine with picking fights for any fighter
Just don't pretend you are the Champ

A HW Champ takes all comers, especially since they have only beaten a HW coming off a dominant loss...Jones has 1 HW win and Aspinall has 10 of his last 11 and 17 HW wins overall...they can't be compared at this point IMO

He left LHW for whatever reason(hmnn), and has only fought one guy in almost 4 years...He had a run, but right now he is just an inactive guy with a previous resume against guys that were smaller than he.

The timeline indicates he waited until Francis left, I don't blame him...He first spoke of HW fights in 2013...IMO he only pretended to want Ngannou, that fight was there if he wanted it and they both would get 5+ million monies.

He beat a ton of 205ers(lost to a few as well)...but is unproven as a HW...I need to see more than 90 seconds against a freshly dominated HW with what appeared to be a busted up hand before I judge his HW worth and call him a HW champ...He is a HW with 1 fight right now.

I agree that he really never wanted Francis. But heavyweights usually get paid the most. Look at what Francis got paid. He was the heavyweight champ, but didn't get paid heavyweight champ money. In the slimy sport of boxing, fight purses are public knowledge. In the UFC, Dana Pat's himself on the back for giving out "Bonuses." People are getting paid chump change meanwhile heads are bouncing off of mats like basketballs.
UFC is making a killing with these PPVs. Randy Couture didn't make nearly what he deserved being the light heavy AND Heavyweight champion simultaneously.

H would have neutralized ngannou
And anyway, Nate was in line for ngannou as he asked for that fight
