very unusual finish. I'm sure there have been a few of these over the years. and several where the guy in mount got f'ken tagged and had to re-evaluate their grip on consciousness while trying to hold position. frustratingly, I can't remember any examples.

One of the things that always puzzled me about nhb/mma was the lack of these.
I thought Vitor would have a couple.
Mousasi did well, as did Gilbert Yvel.
There've been but a few good ground showings.

Uriah hall did this to his semifinal opponent on TuF before he lost to Kelvin in the finale

There vid of this anywhere? I dont remember that one. I remember the spinning heel kick he landed that I thought killed his opponent though.

I agree there is a huge opening for these type of shots, if someone is trying ground and pound in this matter, but i think it's hard to generate the power he gave his shot, while eating your opponents fists.

This has been something I'm supprised we haven't seen more of. And from guard.
Fighters tend to get reckless and complacent on top . Not necessarily to try and fight your way out or get the ko but give the opponent something to think about while creating space to improve position.
Another thing is it's one of those things that are frowned on / not trained in bjj . But how many things in bjj were once considered incorrect that have since been adopted ? Quite a few.
Rember the chael Anderson fight ? It was actually the punch right before the triangle that set that up. You could see Anderson stunned him with that

I remember Joe Riggs getting a tko (cut stoppage?) from guard in the ufc.
I want to say it was against Chris Lytle.

I hadn't seen that fight.
Great example.
It's there if people start looking for it.
Even if you don't get the ko if it becomes more common for people to throw back from bottom it will make people less aggressive from top position.

I love watching fighters who are active and offensive from the bottom (Holland, Diaz brothers, Ferguson)...versus those who just accept the position and are content just getting thru a round.
