I had it for Hendricks watching live and after a rewatch. GSP is the GOAT in my eyes, but I'm just not seeing it for GSP. Media outlets overwhelmingly had it for GSP.

Hendricks won. The thing that sticks out most from that fight is them going back and forth over WADA and USADA. They confused the shit out of me and I never bothered to figure it out beyond their explanation.
I wish they had the opportunity to run that one back after Hendricks beat Lawler and became champ. I think GSP would have run straight through him in a rematch.
I only watched the fight once live.
I thought it was fairly close but GSP won and I didn't think it was controversial.
At the time I was a massive GSP hater so I was surprised people were so outraged.
I was a hater because of how much people hung off his nuts. Definitely did not think he was the goat.
So I definitely wasn't biased.
Maybe people brought into the " look at his face " to much.
My face marks up super easily, so I understand how people mark up differently. Gsp definitely mark's up easily.

He lost his killer instinct at some point. It was rough watching him jab his way through title defenses. Most of us wanted to see GSP lose that fight.
He lost it after the serra fight. From then on he played it safe. Even if that ment dominating every round of every fight he was in wrestling.
It pissed me off he was even mentioned in the discussion with Anderson who was fucking smoking guys in the first 2 rounds.
All time greats too like Dan Henderson, and stepping up to 205 and making it look easy.
Gsp was a great fighter but he can't get credit for shit he didn't do .
He wasn't finishing guy's and he didn't want to go up in weight.
I give him way more credit than most people did for his win over bisbing. That guy is a hard fighter. His eye did play a big part in how that fight ended though. GSP still got that win and the finish though so I give him the credit.
Pierre actually won his rounds by larger margins in striking numbers but Hendricks landed more impactful shots in the rounds he won.
It all came down to who won round one, Hendricks elbowed the head off Pierre at one point in the first but GSP had the sub attempt and take down, also outstruck him standing.
I had Pierre winning that fight when watching it live and rewatching thought the same, he outstruck Johnny in the rounds he won, had more takedowns had some sub attempts.
Hendricks landed some big shots alright and the second and fourth were the clearest rounds of the fight but GSP won the fight as per the criteria in place for judging, maybe under different rules you could have gave it to Hendricks but even pride rules GSP wins as he finished stronger.
It was grease gate that made me hate him.
Before that I was just disappointed he didn't seem to be getting finishes and people were shining him way to hard.
Jon beat GSP up that fight, then he retired
