I have never watched a game (where I paid any attention) but where can I learn how these games are played and important history games and moments such about them?

It's been a want of mine for a long while to get more into American sports. I never watch these things on tv -- I don't have one. Where can I stream this shit for free as well?

Need a TV and antennae at minimum or this is a nonstarter.

Not even older or past games to stream? -- because don't want to invest in tv if I don't end up picking it up and becoming a fan. I just want to learn how these games are played and see if watching becomes fun.

I don't really watch much tv. Every month I contemplate canceling Netflix because I might watch 1 movie a month. Might is very strong because I go months often not even viewing anything. I also have Canadian Netflix which sux grand royal.

Sometimes when I stay at hotels I'm able to catch a game but I have no idea what's going on so I'm only half paying attention until I lose interest completely and turn to HLN and watch forensic files.

There must be a way a late starter can get into these.

Watch last Chance U on Netflix
I watched the bio about the asian basketball player but that didn't really tell me how basketball works. It was more about the beaurocratic process of getting drafted into a professional division.

Asians can't play basketball, that's why.

It's akin to a white man winning the hundred metres or a black man beating Michael Phelps.

Last chance U will help you understand gridiron (American rugby) a little more tho.

It did for me

what do you want to know about basketball?
YouTube has some full old games. Which were some of the best games ever? I figure basketball will be the easiest to pickup if I watch a few of the better games I can figure out mostly how It's played without getting bored out my mind.

Young people and technology. Where can I stream? Ugh!

Personal interaction. Go to a bar where they are showing some big game. Find a nice looking guy, saddle up to the bar next to him and wait for your chance to ask him what's going on. Or sit next to the group most into it and work your way in. Might make great new friends.

Go to a hockey game on a date.

Get invited to a super bowl party.

Save it for down the road...."I'll watch the game with you if you go to Mutter Museum with me." Etc

Actually learning about it isn't important, you can use this over and over.

I don't really watch college basketball, most players there can't shoot so it's a much uglier game compared to the nba.

This was the best game I've ever seen.

Disclaimer I have done all these things except watch with random guy at bar but i have watched games (they were on in background) while eating dinner in them, the problem is I had no idea what was going on and wasn't that interested. It's fun at the time but I never really got into the sport. I think I just need to buckle down and figure out how they are played to fully enjoy them and want to see them and not just because It's going to be a free date. Mostly I just go because other people are interested and they have a ticket for me. I have never bought a ticket myself or suggested we go to a game. I just go for the night out and food tbh. :) this has to change though. I genuinely want to get into one or all of these sports. Buy jerseys and become a crazed fan for a team.

This is one of the dumbest threads I have ever read.

It seems a lot of threads on here lately could be answered by using some common fucking sense and a quick web search.
