Hunting hogs in Texas is not really hunting at all in the traditional sense. A Texas hog hunt is more like a search and destroy mission using any and all legal means to eradicate as many hogs as possible. Hunters frequently utilize tools such as AR-15's equipped with night vision and thermal optics, helicopters and machine guns and even explosives.

In this case, Ray and Adam Shinpaugh are using a Polaris Ranger 900 and AR-style shotguns with green lasers and 3 inch 00 buck shot.

Feral pigs cause an estimated 52 million dollars in agricultural damage in Texas each year and almost 2 billion dollars nationwide. Feral swine are a non-native invasive species in Texas and may be taken by any legal means at any time.

Damn, that is so fucking awesome. We used to do that in a much less successful way with coyotes in Kansas growing up.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Take it easy. I didn't move to Texas and fuck it up.

If I ever do move to Texas I'll ensconce myself in the Lone Star Flag.
When did your ancestors get here? Any idea?

Because I have no idea when mine did. Possibly late 1800s but it could've been earlier.

Does he have an Italian accent or did he come here when he was too young?

I'm imagining the Italian guy from the Simpsons talking to you as a child.
Not really. He was 9 when his family moved here so he learned English pretty young. I can't understand my oldest uncle most of the time though. It also wasn't nearly as acceptable to be an immigrant around that time so your options were fit in, or get out.

Holy shit.
Compared to the rules up here for hunting deer, hog hunting is fucking anarchy.

Can you eat those guys?

They damage crops, breed at an incredible rate, carry disease, and have been known to attack children in neighborhoods... I've honestly never heard anyone say they are against keeping the population down.
