A couple is sitting at their dining table having a talk.
"We really need to talk about ... mother...." She said.
"Yes," he replied, "she is getting harder to care for. She has always been difficult. But now... it's beyond what we can do."
"I know," she replied, "She has always been a challenge. Cranky, argumentative, self centered. Now ... she is getting old and impossible to handle."
"Well," he replied, "she came to live with us 35 years ago. Made our lives really difficult. Created all sorts of issues. It's been a long hard journey. But it is finally time ... that we did something … about your mother."
Silence.
"My Mother????" She replied. "I always thought she was YOUR mother...."
