When i was watching him be interviewed before the fight, i thought i heard him quote Conor line for line. He said: der are levels ta dis game and deez udders aren’t on me level. Something to that affect. Didn’t Conor say the exact same thing? Guess i can’t fault the guy for trying to get paid, but a duplicate is never as good as the original.

He's got to prove he deserves a rematch first. He's not in any position to get demanding anything.
I think they all think if they talk like Conor that they'll be paid and treated like Conor. You'd think that sweet chin music he ate would have woken him up to reality, but appearantly not.
Immediate rematch is never a good idea. Conor spent $300k on a fight camp between his Diaz matches. I doubt Gallagher has that, so it's just not the same. Plus if he gets another bad ko so soon, that could be it for his chin, and he's still young. Give it a rest imo.
Everybody says this. DC says it all the time. Poirier has said it. Eddie said it. It's a cliché, but it isn't a direct Conor cliché.

The Helwani interview mentioned in your OP. That's where he said he wanted a rematch.
I read it as being behind the scenes info- if there's video footage of the conversation they had, I haven't seen it.
He was on Helwani's show yesterday. 41 min in studio. It's actually a really good interview. Somewhat surprisingly, the kid has a pretty good head on his shoulders about all of it.
It's easy to act all self aware and humble after getting smoked and embarrassed like that. Fuck that dude for being an unoriginal hack imo

Not your fault. I honestly think that at least 50% of the news articles these "journalists" put out there are just quotes from a Rogan/Helwani/Chael podcast.
wouldnt do an immediate rematch, he needs to implement a few things and that takes time, reps and experience; he could have won the fight, he just got away from the plan the minute resistance was shown...
he didnt have the chin, power, or defense to try and walk a guy down like he was trying to do
1) he was using the high guard, no parries, just forearms up 2)his high guard wasn't tight, easy to punch through and around 3) He wasnt using angles, he was coming in on straight lines 4) he had td attempts and when they didn't work he bailed immediately and started looking to pressure...
ricky had used the same combo he caught gallagher with, two times before and missed once, landed a glancing strike the other; gallagher in eschewing the mix of strikes/grappling he exposed himself by forcing extended striking exchanges he didnt have the power chin offense or defense to win
