I like Kid Rock.

I know it's popular to shit on him, but if he's collaborated & recorded with everyone from Sammy Hagar to Billy Gibbons to Hank, Jr to Snoop Dogg to Skynyrd to Gretchen Wilson to Monster Truck to Aerosmith to John Fogerty to Dolly Parton to a ton more...

And when Bob fucking Seger not only wants to record with you, but lets you copy his Live Bullet album cover for one of your records, *and* asks you to induct him into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame...

...if he's good enough for all those legends, he's Ok with me. lol

His behind the music episode was pretty interesting. He got a record deal and then vanilla ice broke out and they cancelled his record deal because they thought there couldn't be 2 white rappers. So he just kept going to underground clubs in Detroit. First time I heard of him was on MTV's new years ball, he was dj'ing for it. He started rapping. I've been looking for that video for years but can't find it.

I remember seeing an outdoor performance dont remember if it was a parade or something
But he hopped from instrument to instrument and played them all

Definitely very music talented, he plays a bunch of instruments.

Definitely very music talented, he plays a bunch of instruments.
And that is the underlying problem
Have someone with talent but gotta plant them with the urban wigger bullshit first to get mainstream popularity
Because urban/ghetto is this country’s current culture
And once they are a household name, they go their natural route

If you ever see that episode online, please send me a link. I watched it years ago and haven't been able to find it since.

There was a really interesting bit with a guy who was there when he recorded the Devil Without a Cause album. Many of his early songs had the lyric "I'm goin' platinum!" in it. The guy was saying how Rock didn't just put it in his lyrics, it was something he was always saying and drilling, almost like a mantra. Then he / that album blew up. He was saying it was almost like he willed the album to success.

I've wanted to see that part again for a long time.

I told people for years that Werewolves of London was essentially the same as Sweet Home Alabama. He proved it with All Summer Long.
