If you ever see that episode online, please send me a link. I watched it years ago and haven't been able to find it since.

There was a really interesting bit with a guy who was there when he recorded the Devil Without a Cause album. Many of his early songs had the lyric "I'm goin' platinum!" in it. The guy was saying how Rock didn't just put it in his lyrics, it was something he was always saying and drilling, almost like a mantra. Then he / that album blew up. He was saying it was almost like he willed the album to success.

I've wanted to see that part again for a long time.

As an aside, if you haven't seen / heard the entire interview Rock did with Dan Rather, it's extremely good. Him talking about going out to buy something like a new appliance, asking for the best selling one, then just getting the one that's one notch better than that, was surprisingly insightful, IMO.

The whole video used to be on AXS's site, but doesn't seem to be, anymore. The audio is on spotify, though.

Kid rocks honky tonk in nashville is cool it just gets crowded in there I prefer the smaller honky tonks on lower Broadway.
