Look what happened to Goose in a flat spin, or Chuck Yeager in the Right Stuff in an F-104.
You can't eject out of anything at speeds of mach+.
What about the move the enemy pilot pulled near the end of the movie
Sick move

The T-50 is actually capable of that move.
Can't be certain at that speed, at least in regards to the pilot & g-force.

I'm all in on the theory that when Maverick crashed at the beginning of the movie that he died, and everything that happened after that was a purgatory-like dream.

Mach 10.3 is over 7900 mph

Mav's dead.
At the very least it would have separated his brain stem from his brain inside his own body from the sheer kinetic energy this is all assuming he wasn't vaporized or maybe suffered a stroke too. The expanse tv show touches on this subject when the creator of the hyper speed stuff strokes to death flying over mach 10 .

Some humans have crazy strong anatomy
Cruise is obviously not just an average human

Mach 10 is a cup of coffee if you know what I'm saying

Maverick had been taking heavy G forces all his life im actually surprised he could still pass a physical to fly planes his organs would have been in awful shape. Air force/navy pilots are also in danger of all sorts of cancers from the cockpit which would also be a funny name for a gay bar as I have mentioned on tmmac before "cockpit*tm*"

Would you two shut up?

I'm about to take my forklift operator's test.

That forklift license has to be the easiest license I ever got. I got 3 licenses in 1.5 hrs and like an hour of that was learning to drive the cherry picker which is apparently the most dangerous one, like half a retard could learn to drive a sit down forklift well I take that back because I worked with a guy who sucked at driving even a golf cart.

Yet another example of it being a death dream for Maverick.

He meets an enemy pilot who flies with the exact same bravado that Maverick does? He's fighting himself.

The fact that it was a death dream doesn't ruin the movie. Embrace it.
I'm not letting it go.

Wife and I watched the new Top Gun movie last night and thought it was really good. Was actually surprised. For someone who is such a prick, Hollywood does a good job of making Tom Cruise endearing in his roles.

Sorry if I spoiled it by revealing the entire death dream scenario.

Loved the original top gun & loved the new maverick movie as well.

As far as the technical aspects, I don’t get too caught up on them. I also enjoyed deepwater horizon even though they got plenty wrong in that one as well.

I’ll also add that one of my grandfathers retired as a bird colonel from the USMC. Was the 100th ACE of WW2 & flew combat missions in WW2, Korea & Vietnam. He enjoyed the original top gun movie. If he’s not going to take it too seriously, I sure as hell am not going to.

You're allowed to suspend reality in dreams.

Judobill @Judobill is a pilot & he liked it.
I'm just a butthurt wannabe still upset that the F-14, F-16(and now F-18) got their own movies but the F-15 never did.
It's like making a movie about bad guys in the MCU & leaving out Galactus.
Or better yet, making a prepper movie but leaving out corned beef hash.

Had to lookup Galactus as I’d never heard of him. I’m not a comic book guy so most will go over my head.

I hear ya on missing out on fighters but just take a look at WW2 & how much attention the P-51 gets over all the other quality fighters

Ed Harris should have gotten Jon Hamm's role

Only reason that might not work is Hamm is slightly unlikeable in Maverick and Harris is almost never unlikeable
