Nick hasn't fought in three years, effectively retiring at age 31, and he has only 3 fights in the past 6 years basically making him semi-retired since age 28.

I love me some Diaz boys and I just couldn't believe it's been so long. It all started with that shit Condit fight. I think that decision took the wind out of his sails regarding the sport with all its bullshit and he just said "fuck it".........

I agree on all points. I was disappointed to learn that he just drinks at clubs with a bunch of hangers-on these days. He was about as clean living as a guy can get all through his 20's when he was laser focused on his career.

I didn’t care for Nick in the early days but he grew on me and became one of my favorite fighters. He had such heart and was tough as nails always coming forward, his cardio was off the charts and he would drown opponents with the constant pressure.

He was zoned in on healthy eating and was one of the first guys to really focus on cardio training over strength muscle building.

Great talent who absolutely could have accomplished much much more had he had the vision/goals set.

Gomi Vs. Nick Pride 33 is in my Top 5 all time great fun fights to watch on a cool crisp moon lit night.

What are you talking about, I love Nick but COndit won the fight, not sure how a smart fan like you would try to act like the wrong guy won. Nick just never had the passion for the sport, listen to him talk he has always said it, he does not like fighting, you have to be hungry to fight, even hungrier if you dont like the sport. He is making great money doing things he loves, that is why he is not fighting.

People need to really stop the bs about the Condit fight, Condit won that shit and fought well.

The Diaz Bros will go down as a couple of the all-time “characters” in MMA history. While I appreciate the personas and how they always “keep it real,” as a fan I would trade some of that realness for more time in the cage before it’s too late.

I hope Nick will fight again at some point. MMA needs him.

Pretty sure he said it was Ronda who introduced him to drinking.

Nick really accomplished everything you can in MMA. Was a champ, beat the long running Pride champ, fought for the welterweight belt against GSP, fought a motivated Anderson freaking Silva while high af. He fought or beat a lot of the big names he came up with in his generation. When you've been in with GSP, Anderson, Gomi, Frank Shamrock, BJ Penn etc, it's hard to get excited for the up and comer of the month club.

If they do fight again I just hope it’s with folks who match up with them better. Please don’t put them in with wrestlers or you’ll get nothing but a terrible hump fest. I love the Diaz bros as much as the next guy but they just don’t work with dry jumpers well these days. But you give them some strikers and watch the fireworks fly.

He's not fighting currently because he was suspended by USADA for failing to keep them informed about his travels, disrupting their testing protocol. He didn't fight for a number of years because he received a ridiculously long suspension from the NSAC for a Marijuana metabolite, so minimal that it wouldn't have been flagged under USADA, but nevertheless, the NSAC decided to send a message that no one but the commission itself really paid attention to. The UFC and Nick got together a few months back to discuss the whole USADA thing, with the goal of having Nick fight at least once this year.

I just watched that Condit fight, and it was close from a judges standpoint. Condit's entire game plan was to win a decision by constantly moving, literally running at times, and outstriking Nick with leg kicks and various other insignificant strikes. He fought smart, but when it's all said and done, I doubt he'll look back on that performance as something to be proud of. He was supposed to be the "The Natural Born Killer", which is why we were initially so stoked for that matchup to begin with.

Bullshit

I went over this with you yesterday, Nick Diaz was the one who admitted that he was trying to win on points, Nick himself said it in the post fight interview, everything in your post is respectuflly hot trash. Condit evaded and then came back and struck Nick with all 8 points. Nick is just impossible to finish.

carlos not only clearly outstruck Nick, he even outboxed Nick rounds 3 to 5

Nick and Carlos are two of my favs and folks shitting on Carlos for that fight really are just full of hot air no other way to say it, they are pissed when they have no right too.

I am expecting you to now show the 2 gifs of Condit running for a split second, while probably not putting up the 70 gifs of Condit brutally striking Nick with elbows kicks punches knees

Nick did not do enough to win, its a fucking cage, where the fuck do you run? Its on the guy fighting you to use movement an dfight.

An example of a guy avoiding fight is Houston Alexander against KIMBO rip, Houston sat on th eouter circle and never engaged, Condit would move and engage, and brought it to Nick.

Yes and apparently he has been taking it to extremes like he does with everything else.

It really makes me wonder if he still keep up the rigorious workout schedule. Hard to imagine consistantly training for 12 hours straight after staying up all night partying.

I was never a fan, per se, but he could come back as the good guy now considering what Conor did the other day.

Anyone vs the Irish guy is "the good guy". No one likes loudmouth jagoffs with shitty tattoos.

you make sense except for "brutally". There was nothing brutal about Condit's striking in that fight. that's why Nick can't understand the decision. but he lost it from a 10-point must system POV.

Nick vs Paul Daley was the greatest one-round fight I've ever seen....
Easily one of the best fights ever despite it being only one round!

Fuck, I remember watching it as it happened. I literally couldn't sit down...had to stand for the whole thing.

Dana and Lorenzo loved it too!
