Not at all, Tennessee vs Garner has established case law on this as well as Graham vs Connor. Call came in a Dude was attempting an armed robbery with a knife, then charged the Trooper when he was giving commands. Trooper was 100% justified in stopping the threat to the public as he was fleeing.

Salem, Oregon — On February 27, 2025, an attempted robbery at the National Guard Air Station in Salem, Oregon, escalated into a fatal officer-involved shooting. Authorities responded to a report of a man, later identified as 22-year-old Matthew Wong, who had delivered a threatening note to the station's guard, demanding compliance within ten minutes. Senior Trooper Oxenrider, who was nearby training his explosive detection K9, self-dispatched to assist. Upon arrival, he encountered Wong near an airplane monument and attempted to engage him. When Wong refused to remove his hands from his pockets and then revealed a knife, the confrontation quickly intensified. Despite multiple warnings and two unsuccessful Taser deployments, Wong charged at the trooper, leading Oxenrider to fire two shots. Wong succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An autopsy confirmed he was struck twice, with bullets passing through his arm and torso. No other individuals were harmed during the altercation.

Eh, walking away with a knife when shot. I don't care at all but legally a bit suspect.
"Wong charged at the trooper, leading Oxenrider to fire two shots"
This is misleading at best.
Yep, what you know when you know it.Completely agree. Failure to obey, agitated, and crossed the magic line. Less than lethal had just failed.
I could justify shooting him in the back too based on dispatch information and what was encountered upon arrival. Not saying I'd necessary do that, would depend on what she was running towards.
TrueAlways amazes me when they just keep walking like zombies.
"Get fucking back, you dumb shits!"

Jacksonville, Florida — On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Officer A.C. Gaulding with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was working a traffic deployment in the area when he attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by the suspect, 33-year-old Brandon White. White was slow to stop, driving past several safe places, until he pulled into a driveway. White immediately began firing his handgun at Officer Gaulding, hitting the officer in his foot. Officer Gaulding fired his gun at White as Officer Gaulding moved towards a position of cover. White then grabbed a rifle and attempted to get out of his vehicle. Officer Gaulding again fired his gun, incapacitating White. That’s when additional officers arrived on scene and provided emergency medical care to White. White was taken to a local hospital where he died. Crime scene detectives determined White was wearing body armor when he shot Officer Gaulding.
Great job. Not to captain hindsight it but I bet he's like damn I ran past a solid brick shed to take cover behind a thin ass fence.
He did a great job

The areas without large populations of blacks aren't bad, at all. But fuck being a COP anywhere there are a bunch of darkies.I can't imagine having to do policing in the US or having to deal with officers there.
The recipe for disaster is just so incredible.
Kudos to the good cops and good citizens for just being that way.
They are always being steam rolled here in L.A county by people with meth strength.Women should not be field cops reason #282943

Jacksonville, Florida — On December 13th, 2024, Police Officer S. Lowry conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by 39-year-old Jason Arrington for running a red light. Officers A. Weippert and M. Cardwell responded to assist on the traffic stop. Arrington, who was cooperative during the traffic stop, informed Officer Lowry that he was armed with a firearm. Officer Lowry directed Arrington to exit his vehicle, and he cooperated. Officer Cardwell then attempted to remove the firearm from the waist of Arrington. While Officer Cardwell was attempting to remove the firearm, it discharged, striking Arrington in the leg. The bullet struck Arrington in his upper thigh and came out his inner thigh on his right side. The other officers tell Cardwell to put the gun down, and then they immediately call for paramedics, help Arrington onto the grass and administer a tourniquet to stop the bleeding in his leg. Arrington said the gunshot wound left him with lasting physical impairments that affected his ability to work as a crane operator. The Internal Affairs investigation resulted in a sustained charge of incompetence against Officer Cardwell and JSO has begun termination proceedings for Officer Cardwell.
