The veteran has signed a new multi-fight deal with Bellator, MMA Fighting has learned.

Huerta returned to Bellator last month to fight Benson Henderson on short notice in Budapest, Hungary. Prior to the fight, Huerta said he signed a one-fight deal in hopes of proving he belonged in the promotion with his performance against Henderson.

Despite losing via second-round submission, Bellator officials seem to believe “El Matador” belongs.

This is why I think Coker is a better promoter than Dana, both Huerta and Gerald Harris stepped up and took late notice fights against killer comp and both had 1 fight contracts, both lost, and both got rewarded with long contracts.

Dana, WME, take notes fuckers

Great, he's still quite good.
I'd love to see him dedicated with a career resurgence.
Super likeable guy.

Hopefully he can start fighting more consistently and put it all back together.

The guy is talented... seems like he was wasting it in One FC, showed up for a pay day and went back to Chang mai.

I don't think that makes him a better promoter, just one that doesn't mind risking somebody else's money lol

Dana (almost) always gives another fight to those who step up on short notice, he thinks it's only fair they get a bout with a full camp. You can't complain about there being too many bad fighters in the UFC then also complain when they don't sign bad fighters to long term contracts.

Dana has many times over fucked over fighters, including fighters who put their career on the line for him. If you step up and save their card and lose, they will put you all the way back down in totem pole also.

I think it's a mix of both Sensor, some fighters get treated well and others get fucked.

I'd like to know whether Roger Huerta's Bellator contract included a death waiver or not, and if the UFC gave out those kinds of contracts would you be shitting on them for it? because Coker did that and is still doing it.

That's pretty weird, are you 100% sure the UFC does not have such a clause also? This guy leaked his contract, maybe if someone in the ufc leaks their contract they have the same clause

Also, it's MMA, a promoter does have to protest their org, and you go into MMA knowing you could get hurt or in a super rare case die. I wonder if even on show on tv that people go out in nature something like this might be put into a contract, only a hunch I got.

they have a liability waiver but it's nothing like that one in the Bellator contract from what I remember. UFC contracts have been posted many times online so I am pretty confident that if they had a death waiver it would've been noticed, but I'll try to find out anyway.
