I'm in the market for a smartwatch. I'm leaning towards a Garmin. Not sure which one. A lot of the pricier options have a bunch of stuff that I would never use, however those are the ones that have the longer battery life as well as scratch resistant screens which I value... Any input?

Gonna use it for step counter, heart rate, tracking runs and maybe biking if I get into that. Scuba diving and all the other triathlon stuff isn't realistically going to be used.

Look on ebay. You'd be insane to spend that kind of money on a glorified hr monitor. Your phone can track all your analytics like distance, ascent, max/avg speed.

Just my opinion. I've had several generations of Garmin watches. I use the altimeter the most and they just ended up being Gucci overpriced cool guy gear.

Got it. I don't like bringing my big ass phone on runs though.

Smart watch was a big waste of money for me. They need to be charged more often than you'd think. They can't really do anything worth a shit. I'd just get a cheap fit bit or something.

Damn fit bits are pricey now too.

Seems like you can't go wrong with Garmin.

Damn. No love for the smart watches! I have a Google something smartwatch and the battery is shit. I thought if I upgraded to something else it would be better.

I've had a garmin fenix3 HR sapphire for almost 9 years now, love it. I use it while working out, hiking, hunting, etc. The navigation and way points are fucking sweet. Going out in the woods, set a waypoint at your truck and go on your way, lose direction? The watch will take you right back to your truck. It utilizes both US and Russian gps.

9 yrs, thats a good investment. I was watching review videos last night and one of the reviewers said that Garmin supports their watches for a long time... What does that mean? Gps updates? Long warranty? Im interested in a 2 year old model and they said nothing to worry about.

Constant updates, the garmin app provides a bunch of data and functionality as well. I use it for my daily hikes, I have different routes saved so I can pick if I want to do a 2,3,4 or 5 mile hike around town. Website as well for downloading different watch faces. There are stock Garmin ones but users actually create them as well. You can personalize the watch to you.

I bought a smartwatch for the same reasons you listed but I returned. I use a Polar heart rate monitor and I just deal with my phone. I keep the phone in what is essentially a fanny pack? It's thin, and just enough room for my phone. When I'm on my bike I wear backwards. Then I just use Strava when running or biking

It's a dildo sleeve. That's what your describing. For dildo transport and storage.

I've had 2 fossil smart watches. I like them because they look like a nice watch rather than a nerd thing.

I'll stick my automatic. From this thread I started checking into smart watches again. Too expensive for what you get, imo. You need to spend around 800 before you actually start getting the cool features like maps and shit. Plus one more thing to keep charged...

I've read that they go on sale a lot. They just happen to not be on sale at the moment.
