Jon really hasn't stopped anybody via strikes in a very long time

This is very likely correct outcome. Stipe has little chance against that string chin on Jones.
I want it to happen, but the last time we saw Stipe he could barely walk. I have the opposite feeling about this fight.
I'm not even sure he got injured and didn't fake a surgery situation. Whole scenario is fishy IMO.
Maybe another last USADA hidden suspension for "pulsing"...then UFC cuts ties with "USADA testing" and Jon returns 18 months later lol.

Stipe of 6 years ago could have won. Would have been a hell of a fight. The only people who have given Jones trouble are guys with good striking who are tall with range. PLUS Stipe would have been impossible for Jones to take down so it would have been a super hard fight for Jon.
NOW......stipe is 42 and hasn't fought in 3 years and has only fought 3 times in 5.5 years. You just can't overcome that kind of age and inactivity against a guy who is still performing at Jones' level...

Jons coming back from injury and his level as you put it isn’t where it was 6 years ago either.
Before he ripped his pec I thought he’d walk through Stipe but now I’m not so sure, it’s still a shit fight and the fact it’s for the undisputed belt boils my piss.
It definitely has the feel of a great upset with the way how Jons been acting. Pride comes before the fall.
