This is just like diuretics at this point. Sure, you can use diuretics to cut weight but you can also use them to hide PED use. That's why they are banned. This "tainted supplement" BS is just a great cover for when your designer steroid that has yet to have a test developed for it gets mixed in with some random steroid you are not taking because the underground lab that made it didn't clean their beakers/vats well enough. They can use these supplements if they feel like it BUT if something comes up on your test even if it is a 1 trillionth then, fuck you, you are suspended just as badly as someone juiced to the gills.

As workers it's already dicey that you have so little control of your body. Making those rules apply to nutrition is unprecedented in all of sports. At some point there just have to be acceptable loopholes as the problem isn't that pervasive.

Actually the UFC official supplement sponsor (and the supplement used at the Performance Institute) is Performance-Inspired

one of Performance-Inspired main funders was WME/IMG

Performance-Inspired also have ALL of their supplements batch tested by informed-choice and certified as free of prohibited substances..

BUT.. its not whey protein and creatine and recovery shakes, and pre workouts that are causing the positive tests.

Its the testosterone boosters, the hgh promoters, the fat cutters etc.,..

you wont find any of those kind of products being certified by informed-choice or others (like NSF)

The solution to the tainted supplement lie is so easy. When the collector takes your piss/blood he also takes a sample of everything you’re on. Everything. If you piss hot they test the samples you provided that day. If those samples are clean then you’re fucked. This bullshit of people having tainted supplements and dick pills is so ridiculous. If supplements were taken at the time of collection Fighters couldn’t use this bullshit as an excuse after the fact.

They should just let the fighters make the choice what they take and leave it at that. Everyone loves Pride and that org was worse than the Russian Olympic team when it came to steroids.

people blame USADA for many fighters' declining performances, but has anyone plotted these performances vs. the date when Xyience was dropped as the official UFC supplement? What people think is post-steroid, low-testosterone lethargy could simply be a case of less Xenergy, especially in the later rounds.

In order to help out fighters, the ufc along with usada could alloe "x" number of supplements to be submitted yearly for testing. Anything clean could be added to a "safe" list. Obviousely, this would only work if the ufc first of all gave a fuck, and secondly was open to approving supplement companies they don't have an economic interest in.

A lot of questions recently about what tools/resources/education provided to UFC athletes and support about dangers of dietary supplements and why an athlete who's positive test was traced to a contaminated or spiked supplement still may receive a sanction (albeit a reduced one). In the 3+ year history of the UFC/USADA program, there has not been a single UFC athlete who's positive test resulted from the use of a 3rd party tested and certified supplement. There are 100's of 3rd party certified supplements on the market, and they are very easy to find. Importance of only using 3rd party certified supplements has been emphasized since the very beginning of the program. Pretty strong words from Jeff. Making it very clear that the fighters have been repeatedly told to buy certified supplements and they continue to ignore the advice..

also shows why they still get suspensions, because despite all the warnings they continue to ignore them which means they have to bear some "fault"

Good point.....I don’t fight but I see where the fighter needs to bear some responsibility as they donweed out what they can but can’t cover everything

What? This is not a sport like tennis or bastketball or baseball. They use their bodies specifically to HURT EACH OTHER.

That's illegal.

It's made legal by the states for sanctioned, entertainment purposes only, but if u r going to use your body to hurt people you have to expect to lose control of what you put in your body since you can kill or mame someone by juicing...

its not "usada approved"

they are tested and certified by third parties like Informed-choice and NSF

Yes, companies pay those bodies to test their supplements for them, but someone has to funds it.



So company X send 20 different supplements to LGC labs (who are informed-choice).. they pay to have them tested.. whatever is clean is certfied and they then get to use the logo on their supplements

LGC then test each batch, or perform monthly testing to ensure they are still compliant. (they also do testing on factories, raw ingredients etc)

So yes, like anything, someone has to pay for it, but theres no involvement from USADA.

Ahh Thanks.

I figured it would be structured something like that. I just can't help thinking USADA
is dirty though. I mean the way they were unilaterally brought in and given all this power
over fighters when they had no say so in bringing them in

Plus the fact that when USADA makes mistakes they don't have to compensate the fighters.

They have zero at risk and all they have to do is sit back and cash fat UFC checks for their tests

The whole thing just screams "hustle" to me
