I don't want to completely dismiss the incident, but you are correct.

I look at a 13 year old boy getting it on with a hottie teacher as a victimless crime. I'd give the kid a high five. If it's a grown dude macking on a 13 year old girl, that's completely different.

Maybe the difference is in the maturity level of the different sexes.
  • Males don't really change their sexual desires. As soon as our pecker works and we actually know what it's for there's only one thing we really want to do with it for the rest of our life.
  • A 13 year old girl is very different - in both maturity and physical attributes - than she will be at 18. 25. 35. 45.

Females never stop evolving. Males are Neanderthals from the word "GO"..

The medias focus on super hot teachers molesting children has lead me to make plenty of jokes in the past. I still think there's a lot of funny jokes to be made mocking the whole thing.

But the reality is, I think it probably screws these kids up. Boys too. I might feel different if the kids were 17 or 18. The power differential might still be an issue sometimes but not always.

At 13, maybe it's a fun sexy idea to the kid. Raging hormones and a hot teacher. If she were 300 lb, it'd be way easier to remove the physicality that we as adults identify with. It'd be easier to see that the child was being manipulated and that he may have a difficult time having age appropriate relationships after this.

These kids aren't having sex with a hot teacher in a vacuum. There's grooming and mixed up signals regarding emotion and physicality and sex that 13 year olds do not have the life maturity and experience to separate and contextualize. This isn't just assisted masturbation material. The kids only two-thirds of the way to being a barely legal adult. He's got a long time of some very formative years to learn proper power structures and empathy and respect in relationships with others. I can't possibly see how that kid goes back to normal.

When I saw the type of porn on my 14 year old's browser, I sat him down and tried to discuss the difference between a normal (for lack of a better word) sexual relationship with someone you love vs hardcore porn. I never dreamed I'd have to try to explain that to my child. Is there a manual somewhere?
