"Three UFC fighters have failed drug tests and have been sanctioned in the state of Texas. But not with USADA.

Niko Price, Curtis Blaydes and Abel Trujillo all tested positive for marijuana in in-competition drug tests in relation to UFC Fight Night 104 in Houston, sources told MMA Fighting on Friday. All three have been suspended 90 days and fined $1,000 by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), sources said.

Victories by Price and Blaydes have been overturned to no contests, per the official MMA database on mixedmartialarts.com. Price originally defeated Alex Morono by second-round knockout and Blaydes beat Milstead originally by second-round TKO. Price’s no contest was first reported by mikethetruth.com."

FUCK Texas and their desperate backwards ass athletic commission. Texas doesn't have a minimum threshold for THC levels so they may very well be suspending fighters for smoking weed a month before the fight.

That's kind of nuts that there's no threshold, and USADA already indicated they have no problems with those fighters.

The answer can probably be found here:

"All three have been suspended 90 days and fined $1,000 by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), sources said."

But I guess if it's illegal in Texas, they aren't required to accommodate traveling fighters - of course, a bunch of them may not ever want to fight there again.

I don't see how it can be enhancing. I don't agree that it numbs pain.

It unquestionably makes you stupid and a loser for smoking it, but idk why a commission would need to regulate losers.

They should all be suspended for 14 years........dangerous drug, that.

Meanwhile, the FBI digs another tunnel from Mexico to the us and 200 tonnes of weed get their way to the states

I'd love to see these guys get some jail time. Maybe these dummies wouldn't think weed was so "groovy" after cooling their heels in the clink for a couple years.

A LOT of people take/smoke it for pain relief.

New New Headline:

"Texas Enforces Old Outdated Rules That Other Commissions and Agencies Severely Disagree With"
Body of article: "It doesn't matter what people think of the rules. Everyone was aware of the outdated rules before they agreed to fight under them and chose to break them anyways."

there is no reason the tobacco and alcohol are legal and Marijuana isnt

other than the government hasn't decided how they can rape the public with taxes yet, and it might hurt the pharmaceutical industry.

Fully agree. Having said that, not relevant. They knew the rules and broke them. Do the crime, do the time.

Cool keep arguing for the letter of the law instead of the spirit of the law. Everybody loves that guy.
So are you arguing that the intent of the law isn't to keep people who compete from using weed, or are you suggesting they didn't have intent when they broke the rules set out by the contract they signed?

If Texas wants to be retarded with the bs suspension and fine then whatever... But it's ridiculous that they also made the victories into No Contests.
