Mr. Frankie, you bring a lot of knowledge to this forum. BUT does it mean something for these two to be meeting? Hell, yeah, it very well could!!! What are the odds that they only talked about potatoes and other mundane topics, as joked about earlier in this thread?

You know they had to discuss the possibility of a GSP/Conor fight, THE BIGGEST PPV HEADLINER the UFC could possibly put together.

Now, that doesn't mean they reached any terms, of course. St. Pierre and Kavanaugh could have thrown around potential dates, the weight class or catch-weight that would be acceptable to both fighters, maybe even talked money or PPV points, to some degree. It would make for easier negotiations with Dana if they can have some starting points potentially worked out beforehand.

GSP and Conor are two guys who have been very vocal about knowing their value and getting what they're worth. They know how to take the bull by the horns, so to speak. They're not going to wait for the UFC to initiate negotiations and lead them around by the nose. They'll be fully prepared to make a strong case to the UFC, and if they can make that case by essentially being on the same page going into negotiations, all the more power to them.
I get thinking that, but that is the EXACT OPPOSITE way deals occur
Each fighters team wants the best deal for their fighter
Conor & team does not need to help GSP negotiate, etc.

If each fighters ask for the max amount, the less chance the fight has to actually occur.
Both fighters getting the max means UFC has very little room to make money.

There is nothing to it at all...

On a side note, my son's MT coach has recently signed with the UFC and will be debuting on the London card in March. He is heading off to SBG Ireland in the next few days to have his fight camp there.
1. You are riht
2. FUCKING A ... great news

I don’t know if that is a fair assessment. No one had heard of Kavanagh or Straigh Blast Gym before Conor put it on the map, yet they have produced 9 UFC fighters and 4 Bellator fighters. My understanding is they also have had numerous regional and European champs come out of their gym. Maybe mastermind is an exaggeration, but he must be doing something right to have had that level of success.
They overhyped Cathal Pendred on TUF/UFC and he was absolutely crap, one of the worst fighters I've ever seen at that level. The only thing he had going for him was that he trained with Conor McGregor and John Kavanagh. I'm not saying he's a bad coach but his gameplans for Gunnar are usually hopeless, he has a hard time getting McGregor to stick to them too and Artem just can't win rounds against anyone decent. I think they are missing a few pieces at SBG and it's more of a problem than the coach having some holes in his training methods.
