Left last Monday morning from Toronto. Driving with my friend all the way to Orange County California (Stay here for the winter). Was listening to a LOT or Tom Petty, Johnny Cash and ELO on the road. Arrived in O.C. on Thursday eve, relaxed then got ready to go see Tom and the Heart Breakers at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday Night. Was Tired but had to see a show from Tom's 40th Anniversary Tour. So glad we decided to go. Who'd of thought it would be the last show he ever did?

Always a huge Tom Petty fan. First time I saw him was at Maple Leaf Gardens In Toronto in the summer of 81. Been to a number of his tours since. The man was one of the great lyricists, song writers and performers of my generation.

He worked with many artists besides the Heart Breakers, From Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan to Prince, but my Favorite has to be Johnny Cash. Petty and the H.B. became the back up band for Cash on his last "American" album series. What an incredible Man, knew from the day he met Elvis ( just a little kid of 7) that he wanted to be a Rock and Roll Star. He lived his dreams, never ignored the importance of his fans and was a family man.

TOM PETTY....... RIP, ... A TRUE AMERICAN MUSIC LEGEND.
