I looked for it, seems to be written by Brian Barstow. Which sounds awfully anglo to me.

Sword of Shannara and the whole series was much appreciated when I read them as a young teen.

I despise 60s counterculture and its people, so never gave the Manson murders too much thought. But O'Neil's Rogan interview got me curious enough to give it a read. So far pretty good.

It was a good read. Long. So much research.
Definitely provided some WTF thought-provoking possibilities. I enjoyed it.
