yo, @conor mcgregor nut hugger

I think many people in the US are so split between Anti and Pro gun people because the whole idea about Gun ownersip, purchase, sale, and rights has been fucked with since the beginning and throughout the history.

Right to bear arms, on a scale of importance, it should top most things because the ARM itself has so much power, like power to kill.

When the guns became unnecessary (after Independence more developed society), the way they manufacture and the sale was pretty mickey mouse like, no different than buying other goods like purchasing a shovel or ropes and this unregulated sales and purchase, and idea of how people view guns have evolved in time, to where it is today.

most pro gun people argue that it's their rights, most anti gun people argue "who cares about that rights cuz it's not even that special, where any Joe Shmoe (with no record) can go out and purchase a gun."

I think we(United States)'re too deep in our gun culture to really make any changes or changes that'll have significant effect on violence or what not. If you look at the history, any kind of restrictions don't work that well, prohibitions don't work at all, and we're always going in circles, which leaves everything back to square 1.

IMO, only option at this point is just go all in, accept that this is just the way of America, and more education in all aspects regarding guns (history, handling, safety, psychology, etc...).

so tired of arguing about guns, it leads to nothing, one side or the other might gain momentum when some incident happens, politicians might be pressured to change some laws, but regardless gun violence still happens and it will continue...

At the least, we have rights to argue, debate, discuss, and even implement minor changes compared to many war-torn countries.

I agree with this sentiment..... My big issue with it all too is just the absurdity that people say that it's a "God given right to own a gun".... Where in the sweet blue fucking hell does it say in the Bible, that a weapon invented in the 20 century is a God given right? I thought the Bible said thou shall not kill.... Not "Thou shall run into a Waffle House buck naked and kill 4 people with an AR because the NRA and Religious Whackjobs think that God wants us to have these guns"..... I don't know, just my take..... You want a AR, admit that you have it because they're fun to shoot, not because "God wanted you to have one".... I don't see that motherfucker handing them out at birth or at every baptism.

Is that a serious question?
Yeah.... Is there a Bible verse that says that God wants us to have an AR-15 (like a great deal of southern conservative Christian types are claiming nowadays)? Because it seems to be a huge talk point for that group that owning an AR-15 is a God given right, which gets back to my point of "I thought that God said thou shall not kill?".

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but when people talk about "God given rights" they're generally speaking about protected rights that appear in the American Constitution rather than the Bible. "Thou shalt be free to pursue happiness" isn't in the Bible either.

Exactly.... They said that it's a God given right to own that particular weapon..... And even if they were speaking about American rights, do the rights of Americans supercede God's law "Thou shalt not kill"?
Yes. The Constitution supersedes the Bible. For what it's worth, the Bible itself contradicts "thou shalt not kill" on multiple occasions.

So then if that's the case, we're good with never invoking the name or word of God in anything government related ever again, right? So all the religious zealots who have pull in government, all the politicians who base laws/opinions on biblical beliefs.... All can stay the fuck in the way back.

I'm ok with this, because now back to the subject of the AR-15, it shows that is based solely off people's opinions, and opinions can change based on facts (unless they choose to remain in ignorance)..... You see, there is NOTHING wrong with guns, however there seems to be a growing issue with the AR-15 that needs to be addressed, and since it's a opinion that everyone should own one... You have to logically listen to the opinions as to why people shouldn't. @conor mcgregor nut hugger is of the opinion that you should not, his reasoning is sound and logical, he gets shit for being a liberal snowflake.... I've seen people claim God given right to own one..... But since it's opinion vs opinion, how is his wrong or any less valid than all the AR supporters here?

Because the idea that there's "a growing issue with the AR-15 that needs to be addressed" isn't an opinion. It's demonstrably false.

It's his (not just solely his, others too) opinion. Personally, I think only military and LEO's should possess them, not 18 year old retards because "Murica".... Like my son, he can't have a bass guitar until he learns to respect and appreciate it (and stops acting like a damn drummer), maybe Americans needs to show that they're capable and qualified to own them (via stricter background checks, and admitting that those with mental issues probably shouldn't own one just because they were born between our borders)... Just ideas and my opinion that probably needs more time to develop into a cohesive plan.
