The thing people neglect about the Mendes fight is that Conor was training for a guy with an entirely different style (Aldo) until two weeks before the fight.I guess Conor was just fortunate to not face any wrestlers in a division stacked with wrestlers. The one wrestler he did fight, took the fight on two weeks notice. That wrestler clearly won the first and was on his way to winning the second when he fatigued (credit to Conor for attacking the body with his strikes) and was finished with 3 seconds left in the round. I don't think it's unusual to wonder how Conor would do against someone with a full tank and a Div1 wrestling background. Would that wrestler have held him down and punched him for one more round? Would Conor have retained enough power to KO/TKO in the 3rd/4th/5th round (Conor has never finished a fight beyond the 2nd round)?
Which ones? Frankie? Frankie had the chance to fight Conor at 196 and turned it down. But I also think he was protected from legit wrestlers.
Might just because I can't stand the paper champ, but I don't think so, Frankie wouldn't have stood long with Conor and would have easily taken him down, for which no way in hell Conor gets back up.Frankie had to be far more careful about the takedown against Ortega, because of that BJJ...but there's now a part of me that wonders if Conor would have landed something like that and put Frankie down.
For real?EDIT - from experience, when Brian snatches your neck you realize you never never never want this guy on your neck again.
Ever.
Probably right. Frankie had to play it safe with Ortega, or risk getting submitted. No risk of that from McGregor.Might just because I can't stand the paper champ, but I don't think so, Frankie wouldn't have stood long with Conor and would have easily taken him down, for which no way in hell Conor gets back up.
the next guy will be Nate, again.Cracks me up every time. He done one shotted people they thought were going to end him. Still building up dreams about the next guy that will defeat Conor. Undertaker at Wrestlemania biches.
I'll watch any Conor fight. I'll watch any Nate fight. Too bad they don't fight too often these days.the next guy will be Nate, again.
Should be fun for sure. I think Blessed is on a different level then T CityWould Holloway have is all I want to know.
Ortega vs. Max should be a great fight.
Yep I don't think Conor would have had the same chances as T CityFrankie would have wrestle-fuked Conor....or at least that would have been his game plan. I highly doubt that Conor could have mad the weight though...not in that short of a time period. He should stay @ 155
as real as it gets. I rolled with him a couple times when he was a brown belt. For real?
Wrestling and cardio would have been a big advantage on Frankie's side.Yep I don't think Conor would have had the same chances as T City
Frankie's game plan woulda been to wrassle fuck Conor and beat
his head in on the ground from the jump.
He simply couldnt execute that kinda agressive wrassle plan
with T City's jitz
