I own a GSG 15, when I show people they get scared because of it's shape and black colour (unconscious racism?).

No that is not what I am saying. Are you for real? I am pointing out to that your premise is bullshit. You are saying because stat wise more people die other ways that it makes no difference, that is some horribly horrendous logic. Just because more die in other ways does not mean we don't need to ban assault weapons.
When I flash my junkI own a GSG 15, when I show people they get scared because of it's shape and black colour (unconscious racism?). They have no idea it's actually a really gay peashooter 22 that's only good for casual target shooting. And these are the same sumbitches that want to dictate gun policy. lol
That's true, people do that a lot. I wish I had a dollar for every asshole who says "you're more likely to get killed driving to the airport than on a plane crash". Thanks dickhead, that'll be a real comfort to me when I'm plummeting to the ground from 30k feet.
I haven't read his links, but my guess is @Splinty is referring to the federal assault weapon ban that was in place from 1994 to 2004.Are you for real? More people die in car crashes than attending a nascar event, but as soon as people where killed at an event that took steps to avoid it happening again, they did not say "hey well since most die other ways we can just turn a blind eye"
Again, your point of view and others who share it are why as a society we are in this spot. You make excuse after excuse for assault weapons and don't want to do anything.
No that is not what I am saying.
I'm saying that when the ban was enacted, it did not change anything.
Just as many people died from guns. Just as many gun crimes occurred. Just just as many shots were fired per gun crime.
So what is your goal in banning assault weapons?
Because I would like to see all of those things above reduced. And if banning assault weapons doesn't do that, then what is the point?
Because I have pointed out a number of negatives in doing so.
So instead of attacking me personally for my position, how about you tell me exactly why you "respectfully disagree" that it will make a difference now when it didn't make a difference for the 10 years and we had a ban.
I haven't read his links, but my guess is @Splinty is referring to the federal assault weapon ban that was in place from 1994 to 2004.
It was largely ineffective, which is why it was allowed to expire and has yet to be reenacted on a federal level. States have their own restrictions, and studies show that those with heavier restrictions do not have fewer shootings. In many cases, it's the direct opposite.
It's sad people can't debate without immature name calling.I have not attacked you personally, at least not any more than you have with your often mocking tone with me.

You keep saying assault weapons. What - specifically - do you want banned?I have not attacked you personally, at least not any more than you have with your often mocking tone with me. I actually have nothing against you, believe it or not. I just think this is extremely serious topic. We agree for the most part that it takes a lot of measures, but where we disagree is about assault weapons and I do think it would make a difference in some cases.
Why don't we at least focus on the fact that we agree on 90% here.
Did you just spend two pages telling me that I'm avoiding the topic, telling me my perspective was bullshit, warped, that I'm the problem, that I would rather have my children murdered, etc. And then try to jump out?I have not attacked you personally, at least not any more than you have with your often mocking tone with me. I'm going to make a logical guess that it's approximately the same percentage of crimes as before the ban, because criminals didn't care about the ban. Or the law before the ban.How many of the homicides from 94 to 04 with assault weapons where done by people who illegally attained them? that is what I want to know if possible.
You keep saying assault weapons. What - specifically - do you want banned?
All rifles with a magazine? Handguns too?
Like this?I own a GSG 15, when I show people they get scared because of it's shape and black colour (unconscious racism?). They have no idea it's actually a really gay peashooter 22 that's only good for casual target shooting. And these are the same sumbitches that want to dictate gun policy. lol

Lol
I have 10 years of data and I've explained several negatives i see to instituting an assault weapons ban.
Anytime you want to back your position I'll be back.
I could get 20 rounds off in a minute with a bolt-action.Like if some crazy fucker can shoot off 20 rounds in a minute or some shit.
AR15 platform animated.Not talking about a pistol
100% agree.Good guys with guns can stop bad guys with guns.
Bullshit. You been insulting and mocking towards me since I pm'd you about something.
Who knows... Maybe it was a prompt from me?Others have seen it on here, one person even pm'd me about it, with no prompt from me either FYI.
Also, I have provided a lot of info on why your "logic"is wrong and about my view but you think you can just bury your head in the ground and put your hands over your ears.
Just like my Ruger .22 pistolIt's semi-automatic and has a detachable magazine.
Awesome. The voice of reason is here.An AR-15 is an assault weapon. No, it's not an assault rifle, but it's absolutely an assault weapon. It's semi-automatic and has a detachable magazine.
Conservatards please stop shitting up the thread by arguing semantics.

Your question illustrates the problem with 'bans' - they disarm primarily good people who were no risk, at a large financial and social cost.
No one was mocking you. I've given you a lengthy invested responses. To which I was reminded that my perspective is Warped, bullshit, and that I'm the problem.
Who knows... Maybe it was a prompt from me?
Again. Not even a little bit. The topic of conversation is why we should or should not have an assault weapons ban.
Anytime you want to show me the effectiveness of one, I would probably jump on board.
But you keep talking past me while ironically telling me I'm avoiding the topic.
Well yea. You don’t see many pics of AKs floating around on the media. Why? Them bitches is made of woodAssault weapons are banned.
An AR-15 isn't an assault rifle. It's a rifle. 1 trigger pull = 1 bullet.
Perhaps they should make them all with wood stocks so they don't look so "mean"?

Derringer's shoot a larger round than the AR15's.It’s overcompensation
Real men with nothing to prove only shoot derringers
