I agree with this sentiment..... My big issue with it all too is just the absurdity that people say that it's a "God given right to own a gun".... Where in the sweet blue fucking hell does it say in the Bible, that a weapon invented in the 20 century is a God given right? I thought the Bible said thou shall not kill.... Not "Thou shall run into a Waffle House buck naked and kill 4 people with an AR because the NRA and Religious Whackjobs think that God wants us to have these guns"..... I don't know, just my take..... You want a AR, admit that you have it because they're fun to shoot, not because "God wanted you to have one".... I don't see that motherfucker handing them out at birth or at every baptism.
The Bill of Rights is an enumeration of Natural Rights. These are rights that all humans are born with, no other human can infringe upon...even if it's a collection of people and we call them 'government'.

Biblical - check out Luke 22:36

"He (Jesus) said to them, "But now the one who has a purse must take it, and likewise a bag. And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one."

According to Christ, it's better to be naked and armed. Then you can fall back on the 'Thou shall not kill' as a reason not to shoot up a Waffle House.

No. All you need to buy a car is money.
Documents to have on hand include:
  • Your drivers license. Whether you're on the road or not, your driver's license is an essential form of ID. ...
  • Your vehicle registration. You receive this document when you register your vehicle with your local motor vehicle agency.
  • Proof of insurance.

AR-15's, I've already publicly stated that I have no issues with handguns.
Handguns kill a lot more people than ARs...or any rifle for that matter.

But it's not about the method. Crazy people kill themselves. Crazy people kill other people. Some crazy people kill themselves with drugs (including alcohol) or cars or hammers or their bare hands.

Let's devote the same amount of resources to understanding why people hurt themselves and others as we do to locking them in metal cages or dosing them with pharmaceuticals.

Let's not waste resources on restricting the means by which they hurt themselves and others. The means are infinite, the root cause(s) are finite.

those are things you need to stay out of jail, not things you need to buy one.

That's an interpretation of what was stated, not specifically stated.... Which is subjective, is it not? Two people read the same thing and see it differently. Two people read the same Bible and determine what is the more important "story". In pecking order, would not Jesus father and his "thou shalt not kill" outweigh whatever junior said?

AR-15's, I've already publicly stated that I have no issues with handguns.
But Seung-Hui Cho murdered 32 people in the Virginia Tech shooting, and he only used handguns. That's a higher death toll than other famous shootings with AR-style weapons like Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland shooting, etc. Plus statistically, they are used in the vast majority of gun violence, by a large margin.

So how can you say you have no issues with handguns? No, we can no longer afford to pussyfoot around this. Handguns have to go, too.

If rednecks love the 2A so much, they can have the guns that were around when the 2A was written, and that's it (except a Brown Bess, because anything bigger than a .50 round is banned, obviously).

Good luck trying to do a mass shooting with a musket. I'd love to see someone try to do a drive by with a cannon pointed out their back window.

I am in agreement with you there.... However, can I add the caveat.... Fuck what a piece of paper written by long dead child rapists and British ex Pat's said.... If they're know crazy, they can't own a water pistol let alone a gun of any variety.

BTW, back in the those days, if you were crazy, they would banish you into the woods or an island way the fuck away from everyone.... Bet they didn't give those psychotic face eating motherfuckers guns LOL

So you buy a car not to operate it?
I can operate it on private property. In Iowa, you didn't even need a license to operate a motor vehicle on public roads if you were on 'farm business'.

I started driving on gravel roads when I was 12. I'd been driving on the farm (in cars and trucks, not just tractors) since I was 10.

fair enough. And you'll be restricted to the forms of expression available in the 18th century when you avail yourself of the 1st Amendment.

BTW - the Pickel gun was automatic and available at the time the Constitution was written.

That's already a law.
Allow me to expand on it.... It they are prescribed any mood inhibitors, anti depressants, or have multiple DUI's, they don't deserve the right to a gun. Now that won't identify or address EVERY kind of crazy (I believe posting on public forums is a surefire identifier of the "crazy"), but it's a hell of a start.

and this logic is predicated on the idea that they're too dangerous to be trusted with firearms?

Lol what, this is funny. So buy a car to leave in property and walk to work or store or wherever. Good thing I got a gun I can walk with.
You can "Lol" all you want. Doesn't change the fact that car ownership isn't "heavily regulated" Use of cars is heavily regulated, but so is gun use.

Well, if the argument is being made by adament AR supporters, and 2A enthusiasts that these people suffer from mental health disorders.... And those drugs are prescribed to those with mental health disorders.... Wouldn't that be a identifier? I'm only going with the opinions that these groups of people are saying, they say blame the crazy person, not the gun... They say address mental illness and mental health disorders, don't say it's the gun.... So would this not be the next logical step in that argument?

I'm a little confused, I don't know how GOD got involved in this.

I'm going off of the 2nd amendment which reads, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The Bill of Rights also state, we have Freedom of Religion.

No offense, but I asked you a direct "Yes" or "No" question.
