Holy shit at that end to MobLand. Dayum.

And I stand by what I said earlier in the thread - every female in that show is a wholly unlikable cunt.

I'm on last episode of dept 0.

Really enjoyed it so far.

*Edit. Finished. Fucking great show.

My only gripe was very petty and it involves improper conduct by a member of her majesty's royal navy, which I shall be writing to horse guards about

I watched the first episode of that.

Dude is fucking strannnnnnge.

For those that haven't heard of this, there was a mortician in CA back in the early 80s whose family was in the funeral home business and he took control of the creamatorium. At the time (no idea what it's like now), it took roughly 2 hours to cremate a body between burning it and letting the oven cool down enough to get the ashes out so they could be returned to the family. Cost was roughly $250/body.

He started charging like $55/body. The crematorium went from burning 165 bodies in a year to like 3600+.

Turns out he was breaking corpses up, folding them up, and stuffing as many as he could into an oven at a time. So instead of burning one body, he'd burn like 15 at once. Then all the ashes would get mixed together and when people were getting their loved ones' ashes back, it was a bunch of ashes mixed up from a handful of people.

Then it turns out he was busting the teeth out of corpses to get the gold out of 'em and more.

Gets more nefarious from there.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the norm. There's a theory there is no new cemeteries. Where are we putting all these new bodies and ashes? A gravesite has to be a certain size so why aren't the sites ever at full capacity? Even those rooms with boxes are enormous.

Idk anyone who has tossed ashes into the sea or anything like that. They're all buried even after cremation and they go in a coffin.

The guy went to jail, got out, and they interview him in the docu (only one episode has dropped so far).

There is a bunch of other nefarious stuff that goes on - the gold stuff I mentioned, a guy also in the funeral home business was making a bunch of noise about what he thought this dude was doing ends up dead, etc.

That shit aside - which he of course denies involvement in during the docu (well, he admits harvesting gold upon families' request, but not for himself) - he maintains that he did absolutely nothing wrong.

The big justification he used was that a lof of the cremations had the ashes spread at sea...which I guess the families weren't doing, but the funeral home was. If Joe and John are both cremated and have their ashes spread at sea, they're getting mixed up at sea, so who cares if they get mixed up before hand? Ends up the same thing.

Of course, he also maintains that after the bodies are burned, all they are is ash, it's not your loved one anymore, etc, too.
