Another wreck on the final lap.
Byron wins the race to the finish line.

Good race.

Dont seem to be many nascar fans on here. I grew up in Bristol and my uncle was Sterling Marlins crew chief. Been to countless races there and 2 AMA races in Daytona. Friend of mine isnt even 5 foot tall and she raced constantly at Thunder Valley.
I raced at Nashville Super speedway.
Hell yeah man.
I grew up around racing as well - except I was hydroplanes. But I'm a fan of anything that goes fast.

I've been to Bristol a few times. Insane parties that last 4 days/nights. Thursday to Sunday. Good times. Always camped in Earhardt Lot.

Bubba sucked.
He's usually OK at the superspeedways, but yeah when everyone started getting after it in Stage 3 last night he fucked that entire outside row. No speed.

This is a fight forum at its core.

Only a few folks on here have the intelligence and sophsitication required to have a meaningful NASCAR discussion.

I lived behind Exide right across from the track. On race day my parkling lot was full and this was back in the 90s.Bristols not the same since they redid the track.
I want to say I was last down there in 2005 or so.

First F1 Grand Prix of the year was this morning in Australia.

Rain was on/off for the whole race, conditions were tricky as hell. Most of the rookies crashed out, a couple of experienced drivers got caught out as well.

At the front, battle was resumed from where it left off last year, with Lando Norris in the McLaren beating Max Verstappen in the Red Bull for the top two spots.

This is the first year Red Bull will be without engineer and aerodynamics genius Adrian Newey since 2006, so it will be interesting to see if they can develop the car as well as they could previously throughout the course of the season.

The last 15 driver's champions in a row have driven either a Red Bull or a Mercedes, so it would be awesome to see Lando (or anyone else not driving a RB or Merc) win one.

Oh, I forgot the best part of the race. Charles Leclerc's radio message!

Leclerc: "Is there a leakage?"

Ferrari engineer: "A leakage of what?"

Leclerc: "I have the seat full of water! Like, full of water!"

Ferrari engineer: "Must be the water."

Leclerc: "Let's add that to the words of wisdom."

F1 @ Bahrain today. Green flag drops at 11 AM est.
Piastri (McLaren) is on pole.

McClaren took the first 2 races of the year (Norris, Piastri). Red Bull (Verstappen) won in Japan.
We might be in for a solid season.

I didn't mention the Japanese Grand Prix, because it was an absolute snoozefest. With a couple of exceptions, everyone got off the line in the order they qualified and then stayed there for the rest of the race. It's a pity, because the drivers love the challenge of the Suzuka circuit. It's one of very few figure 8 circuits in the world, and was always fun to drive on the old F1 games.

I'm hopeful of a fun race in Bahrain. Piastri took pole in the McLaren, but his team mate Norris (current points leader) is in 6th, and Verstappen is 7th.

I'm not watching live today, race should be ending sometime around now.

Fuck yeah. This is what NASCAR needs.

Your roots are in moonshine running. Fuck all this nicey-nice shit.
Get rid of the teams. Get rid of the stages. Oh - and go back to stock cars. Even though there's nothing "stock" about a "stock" car. Per Harry Hogge.

This is after a Street Stock feature at Bowman Gray Stadium - a track known for crazy shit.

That's embarrassing to watch.

Pair of overly emotional babies having tantrums.

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was on today.

Norris binned it in the last part of qualifying, so he started 10th. McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari all had pretty much the same race pace, but Piastri in the McLaren got off the line fastest and that secured him the win (just).

It's been so cut and dried in the last three seasons. Even last year when the McLaren caught up to the Red Bull in terms of pace, Verstappen had such a big championship lead that it didn't matter.

This could get really interesting though - it's super close between Piastri Norris and Verstappen, LeClerc could get into the mix if Ferrari develop the car faster, Russell could start winning races if Mercedes develop the car faster. I can't remember the last time that there was a possibility of four different manufacturers being the fastest by season's end.

So much better when 1 dude / team isn't dominating.

NASCAR is at Talladega today. My favorite track.

Zane Fucking Smith is on the pole @ 182.174 mph
That's his first pole. He won't win this race.

How effective are the restrictor plates? The track record is 212.809 mph by Bill Fucking Elliott in 1987.
30 mph faster than the 2025 pole position. Insane.

Blaney is the betting favorite at +700
Followed by Logano (+1000), Byron (+1200), Busch (+1200) and Cindric (+1200)

Green flag drops at 3 PM. FOX.
