Had one, not enough traffic to it. Will bring it back once there's enough interest.

In the meantime people typically just post about big events in cageside since there's a lot of crossover fans

If there were a few hundred thousand members, I suspect there might be a subforum for boxing.
As it is, during big fights, such as Alvarez/GGG, we do live auto-refresh threads.
To chat boxing, you either make a specific thread in cageside, or go to a boxing forum.
@BarryBondsMVP has a good one on the UG you can check out.

No subforum we talk boxing on cageside

A couple big boxing fans on here like myself, Truck Party @Truck Party , Rambo John J @Rambo John J but not too many to be honest
We always have live threads for big fights, you should join us one card
I was never really a member of a forum before coming here, I'm surprised there isn't more crossover. I had always figured most MMA fans grew up as boxing fans & just added MMA into the sports they love to watch like I did. I think I was wrong on that assumption

Ya I think some of it is when you were born
If You were born before the 90s, you grew up with boxing and added mma in as was the case for kickboxing (at least for me) as well

If both after the 90s Espcially if a teen in the early 2000s, it was all mma and boxing was looked at as an old man's sport

I've always been surprised how many people complain about the ground game in mma but still don't watch boxing or kickboxing

There are still some quality boxing forums out there with lots of activity but I find the age group to be mid 30s and older

if you build it they will come

boxing threads will grow as folks see them

I used to watch a lot more Boxing and MMA than I do now...I know exactly what I am seeing and read the body language perfectly, but I no longer have a detailed memory fighters history and skillsets

PS your avatar is so fun...makes me smile every time

Based on the PPV numbers of Brock and Conor and the absolute disgust with which MMA fan talk about WWE. I'd be willing to bet many of them were Pro Wrestling fans who crossed over.

ha thanks, Toney is probably the last boxer I was a huge fan of other than Miguel Cotto.

I'm with you on watching less, if there's a good card I'm tuning in for sure, but some of it is boring as hell. With all the UFC fighters & cards they have to fill there's a whole lot of boring prelims, & boxing is a whole lot of mismatches. Showtime had a card this weekend & in the main event Danny Garcia was a +2200 favorite over Brandon Rios. Davis vs. Peterson last night was one of the worst matchups I've seen in the UFC, & there's been some bad ones.

I’m more of a boxing fan these days I’d say. MMA has become stale for me for some reason.

Here is my problem with boxing, too many high level bs matches. I know this because I check lines all the time on bovada.

In MMA, the biggest underdog I remember in a title fight was Ronda against Amanda Davis. Ronda was a 10 to 1, maybe 11 to 1.

The line was something like -1000 or -1100 for ronda.

Then when I look at boxing matches, I am lucky if I see that line. Whoever the fuck Cotto fought, Cotto came in as a fucking -4000 fav, 40 to 1 or some shit.

Just last saturday, Danny Garcia was a 35 to 1 fav. Its one thing to have these lines on prelim boxing fights, but almost every big boxing fiht, including title fights the lines look like this.

It's a joke

Sure sometimes you get GGG vs Canelo, but most of th etime its bs shit. Trust me, all you have to do is look at the lines on Bovada every Saturday.

I used to love boxing, but it got pretty convoluted with the myriad of belts. Plus I didn't have cable as a young lad, so I lost touch when they moved the sport from free broadcast to cable and PPVs. And the matchups I did get to see were largely studs vs tomato cans I'd never heard of.

Once I lost interest in boxing, I never bothered getting back into it all that much because I found MMA. Although my interest in MMA has diminished lately because I don't have the time to keep up with all the events and fighters. I preferred when there was basically 1 main event a month, and it alternated between Pride and UFC. To me that was the pinnacle of the sport. Now it feels like the market has been oversaturated with MMA events.

I still watch events when I don't have anything else going on, but the days of me having 10 or so dudes over to watch a night of fights has passed.

Look at this upcoming saturday. Once you get to lines that someone is a 15 to 1 fav, what's the point in even watching.

Dubois is literally a 100 to 1 favorite. This is not a typo, he is literally a 100 to 1 favorite. Stupid waste of a fight

Zelfa Barret is a 20 to 1 favorite

Anthony Yarde also a 100 to 1 favorite

Callum Smith is an 8 to 1 favorite

And this is the case every Saturday when i check the lines

Once you get to 7 to 1 fav, its basivalyl a given who will win. This shit is like 20 to 1, 100 to 1 favorite lines.

How do you even sanction a guy to fight another guy with such a line.

Think about something, Floyd was only a 3.5 to 1 fav over Conor and we all knew Floyd would win, imagine these lines.

How can I support this?

I'm convinced the GGG-Canelo fight scorecards were rigged so that promoters could sell the rematch.

Growing up my dad had gotten a cable descrambler, that really helped b/c any HBO/Showtime or pay per view event I was watching, I remember even watching these "Latino Heat" cards as a kid that Bob Arum would put on pay per view when he couldn't find a network to buy the event. All the promoters these days suck, but Al Haymon is doing his best to ruin the sport. He's got a lot of top fighters & they rarely fight. Keith Thurman is probably the 2nd best welterweight & has a belt or two, hasn't fought in a year & doesn't have one scheduled. Gary Russell is a featherweight champ, probably the fastest hands in boxing & only loss is to Lomachenko, he's defended his belt twice in 3 years against guys who didn't have a chance. There's a long list of fighters like that these days, there's maybe a few fights a year I even get excited about in boxing.

Do you watch any of the fights?
You are also forgetting fights like 2 weekends ago eubanks/groves which was close to 50/50 until the final two days where the fighter who LOST became the favorite

I care about good fights, nice knockouts, slick boxing, Not the lines
