I had 6 155m artillery shells daisy chained together set off as an IED under my soft skinned LMTV on a convoy in Iraq. I'm very lucky to have escaped that incident with my life.
Some of my friends did not come back home with me. After the incident i felt a lot of rage. Later on, i realized that a lot of it was misplaced.
Religious zealots exist in all religions. Islam is a hot button topic right now. Peace, love, and understanding is what is needed... not hate for your fellow man.
Do i understand that there are insane people that will try to kill me in this world simply because of the color of my skin, where i was born, what color clothing i am wearing, what little money i have in my pocket? Yes. Will i let that knowledge cause me to act out angrily out of fear? Hell no. I will choose to do what is right.

Yea we got lucky and almost got hit on a bridge like that out by Thar Thar. In fallujah we got hit with everything. But 2nd deployment was mainly blue rhinos

That's an excalabur round by the looks of it (different than what was used in ied's, but the point still gets across (arty by trade). Also we had dumb ones that used an illum round.... Fucking idiots

i used that image for a couple of reasons: this laptop i'm able to use has like... DICK for updates so i can only see a couple of images when i do a google search, and that one has a person holding it so it was able to convey scale.
These things are NOT fucking little. 6 of them going off under our truck (with me sticking out the top manning the .50 cal) was the loudest thing i never heard. I say never because it blew out my eardrums instantly. The air brake lines on the LMTV are in the front. We were going about 50-55 mph (80-84 kph) when it went off. The resulting dust/debris/smoke rendered visual tracking useless. We stopped via crashing into what seemed like the only fucking tree around. I wasn't strapped in and that fucking hurt... a lot. Luckily it didn't render me unconscious because we had immediate contact. Needless to say, it was a shitty day all around.
I was just being a not picky gun bunny. Yea shit sucks man, glad your still around. Alot of people don't make it through shit like that. Where were you when it happened?
Also to put it into perspective some more, one HE (tnt and comp b) round has a kill radius of 50m and casualty radius of 75m.1 round on the 50 yard line of a football field and everyone's dying.
