You're lucky to have a shop with such top notch choices. Is it also a range where you can rent them?
No range. It's a really different shop and experience. You have to make an appointment in advance and you have one full hour in the shop to look at whatever you want, ask questions etc... No other customers are there during your appointment. Once a year they have an invite only range day where they rent out a range and let customers shoot whatever they want. No fees, they provide the ammo. I've never been but I just found out about them about a month ago.

Pretty much everything is illegal in commiefornia.

You're not near the fires are you?

Funny you say that. 2011's are essentially illegal here, but there are a few shops like this one that use a creative loophole to make them available.

I'm 2 counties away from the fires fortunately.

Springfield just announced a prodigy compact. I loved the original, but mixed reviews of it turned me off. Hopefully this one performs.

It's a smokin hot deal. Thinking about picking one up also. Keep me posted please.
I will, tried ordering it online, they are asking for my local FFL dealers form to process, I'll just hit them up tomorrow and have them order it for me.

Colion put this up yesterday. According to him it's solid so far.
I watched that earlier. If they worked out the bugs on the original, it's gonna be good. Their sizing choices confuse me though. Unless I misunderstand something. There are 2 different versions with a 4.25" barrel. The full size commander, and now the compact, with the option of going smaller with the 3.5. that would be a tough decision to make between the two 4.25" models if I was in the market.

The compact can't be a commander based on it being 3.5". Commander is 4.25", always from what I have learned. Anything under 4.25 is compact, anything in between 4.25 and 5" is specialty (lots of 4.6's out there, but I've never seen them with an actual name), and 5" is government. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the 2011 platform will enlighten me, but that is my understanding.

Is it possible there are 2 commanders, and they differ in grip sizes?

I believe this is the difference. One holds 15 and one holds 17, I think. Still very close and somewhat redundant. You could probably get an extended mags for the compact and have 17.
