"It seems Dan Henderson's campaign actually worked, as undisclosed sources close to Brazilian outlet, Combate, claim there is a verbal agreement on the rematch between Hendo and the current UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping, scheduled for an event in October.

Probably the 45-year old's last crack at a UFC title, Dan Henderson (32-14) would take on Bisping (29-7) coming off a stellar head kick and elbow KO win over Hector Lombard in June, at UFC 199. However, Hendo still carries a 3-6 record in his last 9 fights, with wins over Mauricio Rua and Tim Boetsch in the middle of losses to the likes of Daniel Cormier, Vitor Belfort, Gegard Mousasi, and others. The Lombard win represented the last fight on his UFC contract, but if this report is true, then his new contract includes a title shot."

That both excites me and saddens me at the same time. Excited for the fight itself, saddened because now it's official, Rogan runs the ufc.

All of the people saying Conor didn't deserve to get a shot at Aldo are gonna be super quiet at this one.

Has there been a less deserving title shot? Less than Tyron Woodley even. I love Hendo, but I will be really disappointed if this goes down.

Legends like Henderson, Fedor, Silva, GSP, Nick Diaz etc deserve a title shot whenever they want one. The cumulation of their achievements goes beyond any random 3-fight win streak the new guys are on.

How does this make sense? LMAO

Fun fight considering the history between the two but rankings wise this is hilarious. If Dan wins I'd love to see him retire at the top and go down as one of the GOATS. If Bisping wins I hope he is respectful to Dan and isn't a prick.

I got Bisping via 3rd round tko.

Ok first off if not for a Wiedman injury everyone would be talking about what a great fight this is. The difference isn't Bisping or Hendo it is a serious of highly random events that ended up with Bisping having the strap. Prior to that it would've been #13 vs #8.

As for who wins I will go ahead and keep my rose colored glasses on and stick with Hendo.

I wholeheartedly disagree. All of those guys are legitimate champions but Dan Henderson is over 45 years old. He's 3-6 in his last 9 and he looked like a sad shell of himself up until the moment he killed Lombard. The guy needs to be saved from himself, and currently that is being thrown to the side in the pursuit of money. You're an anti-Zuffa guy, I would expect you to see this misstep by upper management before almost anyone else. This isn't a move that the UFC has to make, whereas in Bellator having Kimbo vs Dada was a necessity.

Speaking about legends, how about Jacare Souza? He's in his late '30s, he's had a storied career spanning through Strikeforce and the UFC, and he is one of the best jiu jitsu practitioners to ever fight in MMA. He has also performed miles beyond Hendo recently. Why are we going to push his shot back just so we can re-live a flash in the pan fantastic moment in the past? MMA has a bright future, and perhaps we should start moving toward it while remembering the past, and not trying to merely recreate it.

Folks keep bringing up Hendo looking like he was going to get knocked out before beating Lombard. Get on fight pass and watch Hendo's best performances. He has looked like that his whole career. Fedor, Rua, etc. Hendo looked knocked out against them all and won.

All these legends, even when they're out of their prime are able to finish any fight at any moment. Hendo only has 1 or 2 more fights left in him. He deserves to be given the chance to retire as a champion. This would be the perfect ending.

By the way the reason for me being against Zuffa is not their matchmaking. The main reason being against them is how they treat fighters and members of the press.
