i wouldnt say exposed, but he got everything he asked for. He has been fighting guys smaller than himself and finally fought a guy the same size. What got exposed it the excuse makers this goes for Zuffa, Dana and anyone else who uses the "he went up 2 weight classes" excuse. No he just didnt drop 2 weight classes and fight a guy 2 weight classes smaller.
Its funny how before the fight he was cutting so much he was almost killing himself to he is fighting a guy 2 weight classes above him. By all rights they are the same size and if Nate had more than 10 days it would have been no problem for him to fight at 155.

Listen to the post fight show interview with Nate and he details the point in the 2nd round when he felt Conor break. Conors mouth wrote a check his ass didnt cash, first round knockout prediction, and when it went to the 2nd he knew Nate took all he had and didnt flinch. Its a case of a fighter buying into his own hype a little too much. It happens.

How can you call it exposed if it was already general knowledge. Everybody and their cousin knew this about both Holm, and especially Conor. Exposed? You were surprised? Speculation was confirmed, that's all about what happened. A well deserved victory by both Tate and Nate.

They both got exposed. They both have piss poor ground games and have avoided the ground in every one of their fights.

Exposed signifies something becoming unconcealed. Was anyone unaware that Holly and Cmac had better stand up skills than ground fighting? Because i think what that really exposes is those people's own ignorance.

Nate landed 67 of 131 head shots (50%) 9 of 13 bodyshots (69%)
Conor landed 47 of 177 head shots (40%) and 7 of 11 body shots (67%)Conor got slapped liked a punk and couldn't do anything about it. Infant one including Conor has an excuse it Doesn't matter what weight , what camp , or anything . He got handled by a true martial artist. Anyone even Conor mentioning Conor gassing are making up excuses , Nate ate his biggest shots and then cracked him . Conore was rocked not gassed you , and then he proceeded to panic wrestle or else he would of been koed, but that was a bad move cause he got choked and tapped like a wimp. Don't get me wrong he was landing good on Diaz but he was nowhere near prepared to take those shots back . But Now imagine if Nate had a full camp like he did for Michael Johnson , or imagine Conor in there with the likes of stephen Thompson , nbk, rory mac or Robbie lawler.. like all the mcgregor fanboys were vying for.

I see people on here and on other social media saying McGregor and Holm got exposed.

Let's get real, we already knew before last night's fights that both weren't the best grapplers, right? So we didn't need to see them actually lose by RNC last night to know this, we've all followed MMA for years and we know how styles make fights. So how did they get exposed again?

Did anyone on this forum really look at Conor like he was the most unstoppable, most skilled fighter we've ever seen before? No. We knew his boxing and trash-talking game were top-notch. But with the exception to Mendes who also took a short notice fight, all of McGregor's victories occurred exclusively in the stand-up. Neither Holly or Conor really proved themselves as grapplers and from what we've seen and read, it's safe to say neither is winning an ADCC, EBI or Olympic wrestling gold medal anytime soon.

Professional fighters on here, correct me if I'm wrong, but MMA is a three pronged sport: stand-up, ground and what I call the transition arts (freestyle wrestling, judo, Greco Roman, etc.), the arts where you don't really finish the fight so much as you transition from stand-up to ground and vice versa, basically controlling where the fight is fought. All three are needed at any given time in this sport, all three can be used strategically to throw someone off their game and hardcore MMA fans get this.

I was just surprised to see so many people on here - the hardest of the hardcore MMA forums ;) - act like these guys were exposed for the first time, like we haven't already seen this movie before.
I absolutely felt Conor was exposed last night. Had nothing to do with his ground game though. It was moot point by the time things hit the mat, the finish really was trivial. He was exposed because we found out that his otherworldly left, and his jaw aren't going to be reliable at 55 the way they are at 45.

Holm I don't feel was exposed at all. She fought a good, and if we're being honest with ourselves, non-competitive fight. When you have to finish a fight to win it, it isn't indicative of a good performance. I'm predicting a short reign for Cupcake.

another funny point is that fans shit all over Ronda for not coming back and fighting Holm immediately, or potentially ducking her either by retiring from the sport or fighting Tate for the title instead (and then possibly retiring) but nobody batted an eyelid when Holm said she was fine with whoever the UFC offered her and would fight her way back into contention.

clearly she is ducking the woman who CHOKED HER TO F@#$ING SLEEP IN FRONT OF MILLIONS.

See that beginning statement makes more sense to me than the statement about ground fighting. The reach, the boxing, the timing. Nate was working all those things last night in a way that made his stand up effective against Cmac.

Was Conor exposed as a mid-tier Welterweight? Yes.

Does he talk shit? Yes, that is what sells fights and makes him and everyone more money.

Does any of this affect him at Featherweight or Lightweight? No. He will keep doing what he does. Selling some good ass fights that we all watch.

Umm, Nate Diaz is a mid-tier Lightweight. He can't hang at Welterweight because he's too small.

upper tier lightweight.

that division has over a 100 fighters on the UFC roster I think, and he's right up there in the top group

Sorry, but I don't follow. The beginning statement was about his ground fighting, and I'm saying that Conor was exposed because his jaw and his left aren't going to work against 55ers the way they do against 45ers.

Paragraph, i reiterate.

In that if anything was "exposed" it was in the stand up. I agreed with you there.

"Exposed" doesn't apply to Cmac's ground game, because if anyone thought he was on Nate's level in the grappling department they were already mistaken.

To me personally a guy ranked 5 who until less than 24 hours ago wasn't in the title conversation would be mid-tier, but ultimately the point I was making is that Nate isn't a welterweight, he's a lightweight.
