The real question is why the fuck are we here? what the fuck are we doing here?
what is gonna happen after we die?
how the hell were all these complex living things created?
We are here because we evolved.
We are propagating our genes.
When we die, we return to the earth.
They evolved.

I was confused by the thread title at first, but this is cool stuff.

And lol at "will aliens be as shitty as humans".

I've been on a big space/universe kick lately, I love reading and (trying) to learn about this. There used to be a showing netflix called How the Universe Works. It's not in Netflix anymore, but it's on YouTube as a live feed where they just stream through the series 24 hrs a day. I've been having that play on my second monitor while I work for the past week or so. It's a great series.

You must work from home (or on headphones lol).

Hah, that's it! I work in a small office (only 3 of us) and I'm there by myself a lot. I play it on my second monitor and do work on the other. I'm only half-ass paying attention, but I like having it on in the background. I've seen the whole series a few times all the way through before, so it works for me like that as my attention isn't totally drawn to it.

Well you're gonna love this then. Short & sweet. Hint: Look skyward...

Then when you're done checkout NASA's exoplanet site.
Pretty cool what they're doing here: Exoplanet Exploration: Planets Beyond our Solar System

so you believe in reincarnation ? why they have to come back to earth , why not another planet?

Bo, I do not believe in reincarnation. I meant that when we die, our atoms get recycled.

How do you explain outer body experiences? why the hell do we even exist?
why in 100 to 200 years humans started to progress scientifically at a fast rate , and not in millions years?

We're mold on cheese, dude. Why does the mold exist? It's what happens when enough organic material is coincidentally present and the conditions are right. Don't overthink it.

Glad they are starting to identify some planets we might eventually be able to colonize before the sun dies. I would rather they be capable of supporting life, but not actually have any, because we don't need to have to deal with any new bacteria or anything like that. That is selfish, I know.

I don't enough about out of body experiences to explain them.

We exist because we evolved.

As we discover new technology, it provides us with the ability to develop even more technology, through better communication, research, manufacturing etc. Being an ape and trying to extract iron from ore, without any books or internet or understanding of chemistry or the periodic table, is going to be tough. It was done but, understandably, it took a long time.

Building a basic computer when you already have a transistor isn't such a big leap. Building a better computer when you already have a basic one is also not a big leap.

As for the "millions of years", homo sapiens have only been around for a tens of thousands of years.

"Nearby" star is deceptive. Using conventional propulsion it would take 860,000 years to get there, which means it would have to support human life for longer than Earth has. We don't have the capability to build something like that now.

The short, short, is that unless we discover some sort of travel method that violates the laws of physics, we're stuck in the Solar System.

It can happen one day. Lots of inventions we have today were on Star Trek first. I'm sure there are scientists working on warp drive.

We likely only know about the top technology from 20+ years ago....the highest Tech and advancements are kept Black....To be used by military and keep them from other Power countries

We advanced many times before....to what level is unknown....but certainly much more advanced than we are taught in school

But Global impacts have killed most of the humans many times and left only pockets of survivors to start the cycle over again

Our current History only describes one of these cycles

Was about to comment on this, but you beat me to it. Homo sapiens have been around for about 200,000 years (at least that's what is most commonly accepted and supported by the fossil record). Primates go back millions of years, but not humans.

How can a single celled organism evolve to such a complex living thing ? I am not even half convinced about evolution theory.

Only humans are molds not animals. Can you explain complex function of humans like dreaming , why do we need to sleep?
Humans are more like robots than any other thing. We survive to breed .

This is a question that requires a long answer (and some knowledge of genetics, evolutionary theory, the geologic time scale and its relationship to the history of life on earth, etc), but I'll attempt at giving a very short one.

In my opinion, some of the strongest evidence that supports evolution is genetics/DNA science. It has shown links between us (humans) and simple organisms such as cyanobacteria. In other words you and I, and all humans share many of the same genes with other organisms. In fact, thousands of genes are shared, even with organisms like bacteria and plants. By understanding these genetic codes, we have been able to trace back through time and establish how these are all related, and when the divergences were occurring. We are basically all one big family, and all organisms have roots that trace back to our ancient ancestors (and I'm not just talking about monkeys here, this has been occurring for over 3 billion years).

I'm not going to give a full explanation of the theory of evolution and I'm not qualified to do so. However, evolution is a fact and has been observed. You may not understand it and that's ok but the answer to your questions are available if you educate yourself on the topic.

In summary, random mutations occur in a species. Occasionally those random mutations prove beneficial to gene propagation. Factor in a couple of billion years and voila, humans.

If I had proof I wouldn't be here..

But there are maps Piri Reis(1513) and others that accurately depict the coastline of antarctica without Ice....these are quite accurate and thought to be made up of many source maps....there are also maps that depict antarctica Ice free with rivers and inland seas

Modern record says that antarctica was not discovered until 1818
Modern aerial surveys confirm the coastline and features shown on the ancient maps

The source maps along with a giant chunk of ancient knowledge are thought to have been destroyed in the destruction of the library of alexandria(held most of the knowledge of the ancient world)....sadly this was a great loss and any written proof of previous advanced civilizations was lost

This puts time of ancient exploration at least 4000BC and probably far before that.....6000 years ago

This indicates advanced civilizations with advanced skills at sailing and surveying at the least

This is not the only map that indicates advanced knowledge of the geography of far off lands...the Buache Map...Mercator Map etc....

1. Have you taken mushrooms before?

2. Why do we have to have a reason to exist?
